BE Team Leader s Diary Kitebrook Real Private School Transfer Camp Experience

Mondo Education Updated on 2024-02-04

BE 2024 Winter Vacation Kitebrook Camp kicked off on January 24th, and today is the 7th day of the children's study in a private school in the UK.

Let's take a look at the BE team leader diaries sent back by the two team leaders at BE

During the Kitebrook camp, students are in the same class as students from private schools in the UK, and the course learning, teaching facilities, and assignment submission are all subject to the same rules as students on campus.

Arrive in your class with anticipation

On the first day at Kitebrook, the principal gathered all the teachers and students to hold a welcoming ceremony for the students of Beyi. The Principal introduced the Kitebrook School Code of Conduct:

Be friendly. Self-improvement.

Do what you can. Everyone matters.

Be courteous and treat everyone with respect.

Manage yourself. Helping others

Keep it tidy. Over the next two weeks, the school will hold the children to the same standards.

After the welcome ceremony, the students were given a placement test, and based on the results of the placement test, the students will be transferred to different grades for a two-week learning journey.

The team leader teacher synchronizes the student situation with the parents in real time in the group.

Start learning mode in a new class.

The placement test matches the strength of each student to the greatest extent, allowing them to study in a cycle according to the scientific curriculum ratio in the appropriate grade and maximize their academic strength.

On the first day of class, the children were still a little reserved, but fortunately, the teachers at the school had rich teaching experience and patiently guided the children to gradually let go of their worries and immerse themselves in learning.

A unique pedagogy that allows children to enjoy learning gradually

Before coming to the British private school, everyone had some understanding of the unique teaching methods of the British private school, but after actually following the classes of different grades, I understood why the students of the British private school are willing to learn more knowledge, and they do not rely on external coercion to learn, but self-driven.

Take, for example, the alphabet class in the lower grades. A very ordinary alphabet writing class starts with the teacher pressing the ** key of soft classical music. In the soothing atmosphere, children who are usually very naughty can also be quiet down and write seriously. Combined with the small games set up by the teacher, the usually boring lessons have become interesting.

At the same time, the interest of the upper grades is not reflected in the teaching environment, but in the process of problem solving. For example, the teacher will directly ask the students to program and use the iPad to animate a villain. Each step of the production process will be professionally guided by the teacher, interspersed with professional knowledge. The children's self-confidence is greatly satisfied at the end of the course.

Study buddy, children grow faster

During the camp, each student will have a British friend in their class, who will help our students keep up with the pace of learning, solve math problems, adapt to school activities, etc.

British friends help to adapt to the pace of learning

This kind of learning mode is also a common way for elite private schools in the UK. For example, Radley School has seniors helping students with homework every day. Peer communication is more efficient and smoother, while also increasing students' sense of responsibility and social skills.

In addition to the courses on campus, the itinerary was also interspersed with a few days of study tours. During the first week, students had already travelled to Oxford University, Cotswolds Wildlife Park, Warwick Castle, Harry Potter Studios and more. With the historical knowledge learned in the classroom, you can walk into the real historical monuments and gain direct insights.

A trip to the University of Oxford inspires a yearning for the future

Ms. at Kitebrook SchoolLed by Carolina (with an Oxford Master of Education) and an old Oxford alumnus, the children visited the University of Oxford's Graduation Hall, the Oxford Library, Oxford Bridge, and the Colleges of All Souls College, New College, and Magdalen College, as well as MSCarolina led the way into places that only Oxford students could enter.

Oxford's strong academic atmosphere and beautiful scenery make children feel fresh and excited, and many years later, this may be the place for them to study

Explore Warwick Castle and feel the accumulation of history

At Warwick Castle, we feel like we've traveled back in time to the world of Game of Thrones. The children were given a day of background learning, and each child walked into the ancient castle built in 1068 with curiosity and embarked on an immersive journey through the stories of the hereditary and interior construction of the kings.

Stone walls, towers, palaces, halls and decorative arts show the splendor of the Middle Ages, giving a first-hand feel to the weight of history.

Harry Potter Studios, learn to build a dream world

Harry Potter Discovery

After seeing the magical world of Harry Potter, the students visited the prop library and special effects workshop. In these places, we see many behind-the-scenes secrets that we have never seen before, such as the process of making magic items and how special effects work.

It was the first time that the children had an in-depth understanding of the filmmaking process, which inspired them to explore different careers.

For some children, this is the first time to study in an unfamiliar country without their parents, and parents and children are under as much psychological pressure as families who officially study abroad.

BE Education has been studying in the UK for 20 years, and we understand the anxiety of families studying abroad, and we have already made corresponding plans for the problems that parents are worried about

Fly together, eat and live together, and accompany you throughout the process

BE team leaders accompany the children from China to the UK on the same plane, and have a detailed understanding of each student's special needs before the flight, and take proper care of each student throughout the process.

Two BE team leaders led the students to gather at Beijing and Shanghai airports respectively, and the same flight departed to accompany and take care of the students throughout the flight journey.

During the camp, BE team leaders will eat and live together with the students, and during the students' classes, the team leader will apply for different courses to provide timely assistance to the students during the adaptation stage, and provide feedback on the teaching progress.

Teamwork, safety and security

Not only does BE have a dedicated team leader to accompany us throughout the process, but Kitebrook School has also arranged various activities for students to be connected with us by different teachers. During the school day, the classroom teacher and the dean are in charge, and the extracurricular activities are led by professional teachers, and the evening social activities are accompanied by the housemaster teacher. Make sure every activity for your child takes place in a safe environment.

Instant feedback, giving parents an experience of "online cloud accompaniment".

Going to an unfamiliar country to study abroad is not only a test for children, but also a challenge for parents.

We can understand the feelings of parents, so BE team leaders have been in contact with parents in the communication group, and we have always maintained "cloud companionship" with parents across the 8-hour time difference. The children's daily schedule, play experience, and even daily diary are updated to all parents in real time.

Halfway through the camp, from the diaries sent by the team leaders, you can see the children's full life in the British private school. Hopefully, in the next few days, they will continue to enjoy it
