Today, Suzhou Hengshang will share with you what is the difference between microscopic and macroscopic Vickers?
Micro Vickers and macro Vickers generally refer to two methods used in the field of materials science and metallography to observe and measure the microstructure of materials.
1.Micro-Vickers: The Micro Vickers hardness test evaluates the hardness of a material by applying a diamond indenter with a certain load to the surface of the material, and then measuring the size of the imprint left by the indenter on the surface of the material. This test is commonly used for hardness testing and analysis of microstructures.
2.Macro-Vickers: The macro-Vickers hardness test also determines the hardness of the material by measuring the size of the imprint left by the indenter on the surface of the material by applying a certain load to the surface of the material. Macroscopic Vickers hardness testing is commonly used for hardness testing and analysis of macrostructures.
In general, Micro Vickers is mainly used for hardness testing of fine structures or thin layers of materials, while Macro Vickers is suitable for hardness testing of larger or coarser materials. Both methods are commonly used tools for analyzing the hardness and structural properties of materials.
