The conflict between Russia and Ukraine will take a new direction in 2024.

First, judging by reports on February 17, 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones over several oblasts.

The Russian side believes that these drones were used to carry out terrorist attacks on targets in Russia.

Specific to the oblasts, such as the Bryansk region, Voronezh region, Kaluga region and Kursk region, there are records of interception and destruction of drones of the Ukrainian army.

For example, in the Voronezh region, 3 drones were destroyed, causing damage to the roof of a private house, but there were no builders. These events showed the activity and effectiveness of the Russian air defense system.

Secondly, judging by the report on January 31, 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a war report saying that it repelled multiple attacks of the Ukrainian army in multiple directions and destroyed a number of tanks, armored vehicles and self-propelled artillery and other equipment of the Ukrainian army.

At the same time, Russian air defense forces claimed to have shot down 86 drones and intercepted a number of rockets and guided bombs.

Again, the report of February 16, 2024 mentions that Belgorod Oblast suffered a missile attack from Ukraine, which killed 5 people and injured 18 others, including children.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that their air defense system destroyed 14 rockets, thwarting an attempt at a terrorist attack on facilities inside Russia.

The Russian side also pointed out that the Ukrainian army used American-made gas grenades and unknown toxic chemical agents in December 2023 and January 2024, respectively.

The reports reflect the intensity and complexity of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which involves air clashes, ground battles, rocket and missile attacks, and even allegations of chemical use.

This information is all from the Russian side, while the Ukrainian side may have different views and data.
