Starting from October 2023, the Provincial Department of Justice will focus on year-end and year-end activities to help migrant workers protect their rights throughout the province. Up to now, the province's legal aid institutions have provided professional legal advice to 8,145 migrant workers, organized and handled 4,439 related cases, helped recover 30.71 million yuan in arrears of wages, and received 4,678 migrant workers.
During the event, the Hainan Legal Service Network opened a "Green Channel for Migrant Workers to Seek Help in Arrears of Wages", and built a "multi-in-one" legal aid online service terminal such as APP, WeChat *** self-service terminal, so that migrant workers can apply for legal aid, consult legal issues, print legal documents, and inquire about legal service institutions anytime and anywhere. Hainan Province's "12348" public legal service ** platform has opened a "special seat for migrant workers' rights protection", arranged professional lawyers who are familiar with resolving labor disputes to be on duty, established a "day shift + night shift + callback" service mechanism, and provided a total of 2,552 migrant workers with all-weather free legal consultation services, effectively meeting the needs of migrant workers for consultation on legal issues during non-working hours.
At the same time, legal aid institutions at all levels in the province have set up "legal service posts for migrant workers" and opened up "green channels", so that migrant workers who request payment of labor remuneration, work-related injury compensation, or social insurance benefits are not restricted by economic hardship, but directly provide legal aid, in principle, so that "application is made on the same day, accepted on the same day, approved on the same day, and assigned on the same day". For wage arrears disputes with clear facts, we also provide tolerant acceptance, good faith commitment, and priority mediation services, effectively shortening the time for migrant workers to protect their rights.
