An unfamiliar city

The hospitalized father can basically take care of himself and does not need to be accompanied by anyone to worry about at all times. At night, I plan to go out for a walk and see the night scene that the city hasn't seen in years.

Out of the south gate of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University, along Yanta West Road to the east dozens of meters is Zhuque Street, turn north not far from Xiaozhai West Road. At a glance, I saw the words of Oriental Hotel in the northeast corner of the cross, and I suddenly had a special feeling in my heart. More than thirty years ago, it was probably the grandest building in the area and one of the few hotels in the ancient city. At that time, I was young and new to the city, and once even took my sister into the building to take the elevator up to the top floor, overlooking the view of the city, and then left with a smile. Looking at it now, it is obviously too inconspicuous on the 22nd floor.

Not far from the east along Xiaozhai West Road, it is the famous Xiaozhai business circle, walking on the Xiaozhai cross circular overpass, built at the beginning of this century the famous Xi'an International Trade Center stands in the southeast corner, the bottom of the outer wall curved arc full-color screen changes a large electronic advertisement, I couldn't help but stop to take pictures, and later learned that it is a 3D naked-eye giant screen of 1000 square meters, no wonder it looks so shocking.

Further back, there was a large shopping mall of the Xiaozhai Military Region Service Agency on the side of the road, and the first pair of leather shoes in my life was bought by my brother with me, and now it seems to have disappeared, but the military restricted area with guards on duty at the door is still awe-inspiring and solemn.

Then there is the brother's unit, and the Shaanxi History Museum directly opposite. At that time, my brother had just been assigned to work here, and every time I came to the city, I lived in the dormitory of his unit on Cuihua Road next to me and the unit that was assigned later. So I'm familiar with this place, but even so, I haven't visited the museum so far, and I've only taken pictures by the small pool in its roadside square.

I remember a photo of a four or five-year-old boy, and the boy was supposed to have been brought by his grandmother to play. He was on the edge of the pool with one foot up, his right arm bent over his knee, and his chin on his hand, as if he was seriously ** the water in the pool, maybe there were fish in the water, I don't remember.

The pool is still there, but the platform along the pool is greened, and an electric door is installed on the periphery, so it can no longer be approached at night. Today's Shaanxi History Museum is not as deserted as when it was first built, few people come, it is one of the city's most representative attractions, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda not far from here is an important check-in place for outsiders to come to Xi'an.

It's just that this night, when I walk the streets of this city again, I feel as if I have been out of it for a long time, it is strange to me, I am like a fledgling intruder, I feel new to everything, I don't know how the young people I met on the road suddenly appeared, this city belongs to them, it seems to have nothing to do with me anymore. And those buildings and place names that still have the memories of youth are still regurgitating the taste of the past and the shadow of the loss of time, just like me.

After all, the young me failed to put down roots in the city, and returned to the county seat, which is not far from it, which is now called the district. The city doesn't usually come much, and I rarely stay at night, so if it weren't for my father's hospitalization, I probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to enjoy its night view.

If there was me in this city in the past, I am also its witness and symbol, I am integrated into it, I am a part of it, a cell that was once active, but it soon wanders away, becomes its bystander, and gradually begins to become unfamiliar.

Times are changing naturally, and I see the streets full of young people full of vitality, their youthful and beautiful, their faces full of happiness and laughter, and I know that this city belongs to them and will always belong to the younger generation.
