Introduction to GH170 superalloy
GH170 is a Ni-Cr-Co-based solution-strengthened deformed superalloy. Its main feature is that it contains a high proportion of CO (20%), CR (20%), and W (20%). Trace amounts of lanthanum are introduced to strengthen the grain boundaries. The alloy exhibits high strength and creep resistance at 1000 and still retains good strength in the range of 1100 -1200. In addition, GH170 has excellent oxidation resistance, as well as good cold forming and welding process properties. Its main production form is plates.
Applications of GH170 superalloy
GH170 alloy has been successfully applied to the manufacture of aero engine afterburner adjusting disc parts. Its performance level is close to that of the American solution-strengthened cobalt-based alloys HA188 and MAR-M918. This superalloy is recommended for combustion chambers and other high-temperature components of aero engines, as well as as a nozzle material for rocket engines.
