I interviewed 67 self-made people who started from the bottom and shared ten tips for growing up not to get lost. Here's what they've learned:
1. There are three stages of everyone's opportunity to change their fate: birth, college entrance examination, and present. If the first two stages didn't go well, then cherish the present. It's never too late to take the first step.
2. Don't complain, because complaining will only appear incompetent. Don't rely on others, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Don't hold back, there are too many people in the world.
3. When you really can't let go of certain things, go to the intensive care ward or cemetery, which will make you understand that you have gained too much. And then there's greed. Time is limited, and there are so many interesting things waiting for you. From the point of view of respecting life, there is no need for you to dwell on it.
4. Don't spend too much time socializing when you're not strong enough or good enough. Spend more time studying to improve your professional skills. Give up those useless socializations, improve yourself, and your world will be a wider place.
5. Born in this era, those who can do it are not as good as those who can speak, those who are affectionate are not as good as those who have faces, those who dig out their hearts are not as good as those who pay money, and those who are kind are not as good as those who are sleek.
6. Maturity means no longer thinking that you are omnipotent, but recognizing your own powerlessness. There are some people and some things that you can't change, you can only accept them.
7. Not everyone in this world will treat others with the same kindness. If you are kind, the other party will take advantage of the opportunity; If you are weak, the other party will be ruthless and deceive; You are upright, and the other party will be morally oppressed. Give your heart to the wrong person, and don't blame the world for not being warm. Because it's only because you're stupid to give, you just need to be smart and not obsessively want to change the world.
8. Strive to seize the opportunity and prepare in advance. Be good at spotting opportunities and seizing the important opportunities in life. Spend more time on your career, talk less and do more practical things. Maintain a positive, optimistic, hard-working, self-motivated, self-disciplined and self-improving attitude.
9. Don't be too generous. There are only "stupid and generous" and "poor generous" in this world, have you ever heard of "rich and generous"? The poor are always careful to be generous, while the rich are often generous and stingy. People who like to rush to pay are often not particularly wealthy.
10. Be yourself, really powerful people often don't meddle. When things don't concern you, you don't have to pay too much attention to them; There is no need to ask about things that have already been decided. If you see it through, you don't need to say more, and if you see it clearly, you don't need to entangle.
