If South America is a continent paved with "mysteries", Peru is the beginning of the mysteries.
The mysterious Inca culture, the Amazon rainforest, the lungs of the earth, and the lost city of Machu Picchu are listed as one of ......the top five cuisines in the worldThis faraway country is far more wonderful than we imagined.
Machu Picchu
Castle in the skyIn the top 15 travel experiences in South America recommended by Lonely Planet, Machu Picchu occupies the first place. This "city in the sky", built by the ancient Incas, is completely synonymous with miracles.
In 1913, National Geographic magazine devoted the entire April to Machu Picchu. In 2007, Machu Picchu was listed as one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World".
Spain did not notice its existence during more than 300 years of colonial rule, and Peru remained untouched for 100 years after independence. For this reason, Machu Picchu is also known as the "lost city" of the Inca Empire.
The entire ancient city building does not use any adhesive, but through polishing to make the stone smooth, and then using the tenon principle to put it together so tightly that not a single card can be inserted. And the whole ancient city has super earthquake resistance, after many times, it is still standing intact on the top of the mountain.
On the cliffs at an altitude of 2,400 meters, Machu Picchu looms in the middle of the jungle in a sea of clouds, beautiful like a fairyland.
Moray Terraces
The wisdom and aesthetics of the IncasTerraced rice fields are common, but round rice terraces are rare in the world, and the Moray Rice Terraces are such a unique landscape. It was discovered 20 years later than Machu Picchu and was once suspected of being a landing base for aliens.
Not to mention the wisdom contained in this funnel-shaped terrace, just standing on a high place and looking down on this mysterious and perfect field, you can't help but wonder, is this place that takes the circular aesthetic to the extreme, really a masterpiece of human beings?
The ingenious ancient Incas created funnel-shaped terraces, terraces of different heights and lots with different temperatures, from the highest to the lowest temperature can be as high as 15, coupled with the different light and wind direction, as many as 20 kinds of microclimates and ecological environments have been formed in the Moray terraces.
The combination of natural beauty and technology embodied in the Moray Terraces is a typical feature of the ancient Inca civilization. Whether it's Machu Picchu or the Moray Terraces, they are the perfect results created by the wisdom of the ancient Incas who made full use of the seemingly imperfect natural environment.
Nazca Lines
A mysterious totem in the wastelandIn the Nazca Wasteland of southern Peru, kilometers of lines form vivid patterns carved into the earth, a mystery that has existed for 2,000 years.
With more than 800 giant paintings that can only be seen from the air, could it be that the ancients also mastered the tools of flight? What's even more amazing is that they are all drawn in one stroke, some are curved and some are even completely symmetrical, and how is this done?
The mystery of this World Heritage Site remains unsolved, but you can find a chance to admire the perfect patterns: fish, spirals, algae, trees, hummingbirds, monkeys, lizards, ......You might as well have some insight into the mysterious Nazca Lines.
