There is a pair of sisters among the maids on an errand in Lijia Mansion in "Dream of Red Mansions", namely Jin Chu'er and Yu Chu'er. They are all big maids with a tael of silver per month by Mrs. Wang's side.
One day, Baoyu wandered into Mrs. Wang's upper room. Mrs. Wang was asleep on the couch in the inner room, and Baoyu went up to flirt with Jin Chuan, but was seen by Mrs. Wang, so Mrs. Wang angrily scolded Jin Chu'er for teaching Baoyu badly, and said that Jin Chu'er wanted to climb the dragon and attach the phoenix, and Jin Chu'er committed suicide by jumping into the well when she was humiliated.
In order to make up for her mistakes, Mrs. Wang gave Jin Chu'er's monthly example to Yu Chu'er, so that Yu Chu'er could get two taels of silver every month. Could it be that my sister's death could be offset with silver? But when Mrs. Wang compensates her sister for her monthly silver, what can Yu Chuan do? Not only could she not refuse, but she also had to kowtow to thanksgiving. Who can understand Yu Chuan's pain?
Yu Chuan knew that her sister's death was related to Jia Baoyu, so she hated Baoyu very much. Baoyu was also severely beaten by his father Jia Zheng because of Jin Chuan's death and other things. What kind of delicacy is Baoyu's "soup of little lotus leaves and little lotus peng"? Just like Sister Feng said, the taste is not noble, but it is too grinding, there are four pairs of silver molds alone, all of which are more than a foot long, one inch square, and there are bean-sized chisels on them, and there are chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, lotus pods, and water chestnuts, a total of thirty or forty kinds. It was not easy for the ancestor to make Baoyu remember what he liked to eat, and he would care about how complicated it was, "so he asked people to do it one after another."
Sister Feng said that this lotus leaf soup is usually not a big deal, take this opportunity to make more than ten bowls, everyone tastes it, this everyone of course refers to Jia Mu, Mrs. Wang, Aunt Xue, Bao Dai and other masters, like Aunt Zhao, Aunt Zhou and others naturally have no share, let alone the maids.
The maid Yuchuan tasted it. After the lotus leaf soup was ready, Mrs. Wang ordered Yu Chu'er to send it to Baoyu. Since Jin Chu'er's death, Yu Chu'er has not been very concerned with Baoyu, but she is the personal maid next to Mrs. Wang, and she dare not listen to Mrs. Wang's words.
Baoyu saw that Yu Chuan had sent lotus leaf soup, but she was not in a hurry to eat it. Because the appearance of Yu Chu'er reminded him of Jin Chu'er. Baoyu was sad and ashamed because of this, and had no intention of eating lotus leaf soup. Baoyu asked Yu Chu'er, "How is your mother?" Yu Chu'er's face was full of anger, and she didn't look at Baoyu, and after a long time, Fang said the word "good".
Baoyu saw that Yu Chu'er looked like she didn't want to answer, and knew that Yu Chu'er had a grudge against him because of her sister's death, so she changed the law to spend everyone, and then asked with a smile, Baoyu smiled again: "Good sister, if you want to be angry, just give birth here, when you see the old lady, the wife can be more kind, if you are still like this, you will be scolded again." ”
Yu Chu'er said: "Eat, eat!" Don't talk to me, I don't believe that! With that, he took two sips of soup. Baoyu pretended to drink two mouthfuls of soup, and then shouted: "There is no taste at all, you don't believe it, you will know if you taste it." "Baoyu has always had the habit of letting girls taste their own dishes, Qingwen has tasted it, Fang Guan has tasted it, but this is only in Yihong Courtyard.
Yu Chu'er really tasted it angrily. Baoyu smiled: "This is delicious." When Yu Chu'er heard that, Fang Xie realized that Baoyu deliberately coaxed her to eat a bite and taste it. Yu Chu'er said: "If you say it's not delicious, you will say it's delicious and won't give it to you." Baoyu begged to accompany Xiao to eat, but Yu Chu'er refused to give it to him. At this time, the girl led someone in, and someone came to visit Baoyu.
While talking to the visitor, Baoyu reached out to ask for soup, but accidentally knocked over the bowl, and the soup also spilled on his hand. Although Yu Chu'er was not hot, but she was bluffed, Baoyu didn't feel that her hands were hot, but she just asked Yu Chu'er: "Is it hot?" Does it hurt? Yu Chu'er and the others laughed. Yu Chu'er said: "You are hot yourself, just ask me." After Baoyu heard about it, Fang Jue felt that he was hot.
Seeing Baoyu's thoughts, Yu Chu'er's resentment was resolved a lot. Especially later, on Sister Feng's birthday, Baoyu and Mingyan sneaked out to pay tribute to Jin Chu'er, and Yu Chu'er knew that Baoyu was sincerely regretting her mistakes. Yu Chu'er is kind, and she finally chooses to forgive Baoyu. Baoyu also alleviated the guilt and shame she was carrying.
In a feudal society with clear class barriers, Jia Baoyu, as the son of the son, is not easy to do these things for his mistakes. There is a comment here, if Jin Chu'er knows, how grateful he is?
