China News Service Taoyuan, February 19 (Reporter Yang Chengchen) "I know that Hanfu is because of the popularity of horse-faced skirts in the past two years, and I wanted to try Hanfu in the past, but it is difficult to get in touch in Taiwan." Hanfu lovers on both sides of the strait communicated offline at the Taoyuan Campus of Mingchuan University in Taiwan on the 19th, Wang Zihui, a junior student from the school, told a reporter from China News Service.

The exchange event was organized by the Hanfu Research Institute of the Clothing Culture Committee of the Chinese Culture Promotion Association, and about 40 young Taiwanese Hanfu lovers signed up to participate. Two expert consultants from the Hanfu Research Institute from the mainland gave lectures, introducing Hanfu culture from the perspectives of historical evolution, dynastic characteristics, clothing categories, makeup styles, etc., and more than 10 mainland Hanfu "recommendation officials" wore Hanfu from different dynasties to demonstrate on the spot.

At the end of the introduction session, a number of Taiwanese students went on to experience Hanfu. Wang Zihui changed into a vertical collar cardigan skirt, while her classmate Yang Ziling wore a fluttering scarf and a Taoist robe.

Tang Houxiang, who works in Hunan Province as a designer of Hanfu, was one of the experts at the event. He introduced that many people like the flying fish costume because of film and television works, but it is not actually a style of Hanfu, but refers to the decoration on the clothing.

The host team of this event is from the mainland. For more than 10 years, they have held a series of Hanfu Culture Week activities initiated by Fang Wenshan, a well-known Taiwanese lyricist, in Xitang, Zhejiang. Tang Houxiang has participated in it for ten years, and he told reporters that many Taiwanese Hanfu lovers also learned about Hanfu through Xitang, and Hanfu Culture Week has become a cultural exchange platform for lovers on both sides of the strait.

I feel that the Hanfu information that Taiwanese lovers have learned will be slightly behind, and the research and industrial development of the mainland will be faster. But it's not a big deal. Tang Houxiang said that this time he went to Taiwan with the mentality of cultural exchange, and I believe that everyone can feel the enthusiasm of the participants for Chinese culture.

On February 21, the 2024 Taoyuan Lantern Festival in the Year of the Dragon will welcome guests. According to reports, the mainland "recommendation officials" who communicate with the students of Mingchuan University will also participate in the Hanfu Dynasty Carnival of the Lantern Festival, set up a Hanfu photo area on the spot, and will also hold Hanfu parades, Hanfu weddings and other activities.

Coming to Taiwan to participate in the event is to let the culture of Hanfu be seen by more people. Mao Chaoxi, a Hanfu "recommendation officer" from Yunnan, said, "Although these clothes come from different dynasties, they are all our traditional clothes. ”

In the eyes of Taiwanese students, Hanfu based on Chinese culture will definitely gain fans among young people in Taiwan after promotion, and they will also take over the baton of "recommendation officer" and promote it among friends and classmates.

It's normal for young people who come to Hanfu for the first time with the mindset of watching cosplay (cosplay) exhibitions. Tang Houxiang believes that through understanding, they will gradually have cognition, "This is fundamentally different from cosplay." Hanfu comes from our own culture, and it is modern people who wear traditional clothes." (ENDS).
