It was the middle of winter, overlooking Jinji Village, He'an Town, Xuwen County from the air, and the mangrove forests were like pieces of green silk surrounding the sea, which looked very beautiful.

Mangrove forests are an important part of the wetland ecosystem, which plays an important role in purifying seawater, preventing wind and waves, sequestering and storing carbon, and maintaining biodiversity. Zhanjiang is a "mangrove city", and Xu Wen has 840The 56 hectares of mangrove forest is an important part of the Zhanjiang mangrove forest.

The mangrove forests in Xuwen County are distributed in six townships of Xinliao Town, He'an Town, Jinhe Town, Nanshan Town, Maichen Town and Jiaowei Township, and the main varieties are white bone soil, autumn eggplant, red sea olive, sea lacquer, etc., among which the horn fruit tree of Maichen Town is one of the endangered species of mangrove forest in mainland China.

In the Han Dynasty Maritime Silk Road starting port site - Nanshan Town Dahan Sandun Scenic Area, the long history and mangrove forests complement each other, allowing people to enjoy the beauty of humanity and ecology.

Crabs weave through the roots of the mangroves, and birds spread their wings from the natural sanctuary of the mangroves to feed on the beach. Migratory birds from the north flock to live in the Xuwen mangrove forest, and the harmonious coexistence of people, forests and birds has become a characteristic landscape of the Xuwen mangrove forest. There's never been a better time for bird watching and enjoying the beauty and magic of nature.

Countless lives thrive here, and many migratory birds have become "permanent residents" thanks to the increasing protection of mangroves in Xuwen County in recent years.

In recent years, Xuwen County has comprehensively established a county, town and village forest chief system, and the personnel, implementation plans and work systems of forest chief systems at all levels are basically complete, and the responsible persons for each mangrove wetland are clarified in accordance with the grid responsibility area of forest chiefs and village-level forest rangers, and forest chiefs and forest rangers at all levels carry out mangrove management and protection work in strict accordance with the forest chief patrol system to ensure that the destruction of mangrove woodland is found and stopped in a timely manner. Through measures such as seedling support, miscellaneous removal and replanting, Xuwen County has carried out mangrove tending, and organized technical forces to carry out exploration and site selection, and vigorously carried out mangrove planting.

At present, Xuwen County is promoting the Zhanjiang Marine Ecological Protection and Restoration Project in He'an Town, Xinliao Town and Jinhe Town, which adopts the method of returning ponds to forests and afforestation of tidal flats to carry out mangrove ecological restoration, and the project implementation involves 28 natural villages in 9 village committees in 3 townships; On the basis of the existing vertical revetment on the north side of Xinliao Island, a slope-type ecological revetment + seaweed reef at the foot of the embankment was constructed, and the ecological transformation of the seawall was carried out, with a length of 18km。We are committed to building a demonstration area for mangrove conservation + ecological restoration in Xuwen County.

While carrying out mangrove ecological restoration, Xuwen County also fully combines the original mangrove communities, dun islands, fishing villages and other natural and cultural ecological scenery to create a mangrove ecological landscape belt with local characteristics, and promote the in-depth integration and development of mangrove eco-tourism with characteristic culture, coastal tourism, sightseeing agriculture, and recreational fishery.
