Top 18 majors most popular by employers
UK moneyco.UK analysed 1 million+ job advertisements and ranked the 18 most popular majors by employers based on the number of graduates recruited for these degrees.
This is not great news for students in the humanities, as most of the top 18 most popular majors are in STEM subjects.
At the top of the list, as you can see in the chart above, is:Engineering, with over 76,000 job advertisements posted in the UK;
Business followed in second place with 36,906 job openingsThat's only half the amount of engineering;
Management is in third place with 31,758 job openings
Computer science, accounting, law, etc., have an average of just over 10,000 job advertisements
Last place was Chemistry with only 3,918 job advertisements, in 18th place.
