The anti-collision reinforcement project of the Lixinsha Bridge has been full of twists and turns, and since 2019, heavy vehicles have been restricted due to hidden dangers of the bridge. In order to improve the safety of the bridge, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transport clarified the plan to add anti-collision facilities at piers 16-19 in 2021, and extended the construction for two consecutive years to meet the construction needs of Hunan Changde Road and Bridge Construction Group.
Now, the permit for the project has been extended until August 31, 2024, and the renovation of the bridge is progressing steadily while the waterway is open.
