In response to the U.S. air strikes on Iranian targets in Iraq and Syria, the U.N. Security Council held an emergency meeting, at which the U.S. side not only did not reflect on its own appearance in the slightest, but also claimed that the measures taken by the U.S. military were in accordance with international law and were exercising the inherent right of self-defense of the United States. Is it really in line with international law? Recently, the U.S. military dispatched fighter jets and drones to carry out 85 attacks on the command headquarters, warehouses and other facilities of Iranian-backed militant groups in Syria and Iraq, resulting in many deaths. In this regard, it is said that this is a "retaliation" for the three US soldiers who were killed in a previous drone attack. However, if we go back to the future, Russia is actually right, the United States is "illegally" attacking and threatening the security of the Middle East region, adding fuel to the fire against the background of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the continuous escalation of the situation in the Red Sea.
Based on this, even my country can't stand it. China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, expressed grave concern over the continued military actions taken by the United States, stressing that China "opposes acts that violate the UN Charter and infringe on the territorial sovereignty and security of other countries." Who, in the Middle East, or elsewhere, is creating the threat? Who is abusing force? Who is misleading**? In the face of the "three questions", can the United States give an explanation? The United States has repeatedly claimed that the relevant actions are a response to the attack on the US military and that it is safeguarding its own security, but Iraq, Syria and other countries have expressed strong opposition and condemnation. At the same time, the United States says that it does not seek to create a conflict in the Middle East or any other region, but in reality? The attack is actually creating tensions in the region and increasing the risk of conflict erupting. The rhetoric of the United States is contradictory and inconsistent. Therefore, China hopes that the US side will remain calm, abide by the UN Charter and international law, respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries, and stop its illegal military operations.
Ambassador Zhang Jun also directly said in front of everyone this time that whoever has a loud voice cannot be counted, nor is it who has a hard fist who says it. To put it bluntly, the US air raids in the Middle East are a violation of the sovereignty of other countries. It is estimated that the United States did not expect that China would not give face at all, not because of the tension between China and the United States, but because before this, many high-level US officials have repeatedly called on China to help persuade Iran to prevent the Houthis from taking military action in the Red Sea.
It is well known that the backer behind the Houthis is Iran. As a result, after begging China for a long time, it was met with rare anger from China, and the United States was completely faceless. But then again, why is this happening in China? It's not because it wants to retaliate against the United States, it's because the United States itself is unreasonable. Military operations in the Middle East have destabilized the region and even led to escalating tensions over time. In this regard, if China does not criticize the United States, does it still praise the United States for doing a good job? From this point of view, in fact, it also means in disguise that the United States is in trouble, and even China can't stand it, and directly ends up angry, and if the country continues to do things, it will only put itself in a greater predicament.
