This year's Spring Festival holiday
A lot of places have launched
A variety of dragon dances
Everyone was watching the dragon dance at the same time
I can't help but ask
"How do the dragon dance team train on weekdays? ”
"Is the dragon dance team also divided into professional and amateur teams? ”
With a little doubt
Let's walk in together
Two special dragon dance teams in Hunan
Take the baby to listen together
The story behind the dragon dance team
Along the slowly flowing Xiangjiang River
All the way to the gymnasium of Hunan Normal University
I only heard the voices of people in the museum
A group of students dressed in colorful uniforms
Swing the wooden handle in your hand with all your might
A red dragon nearly 100 meters long
Soar and swoop as they move
Sometimes slow and sometimes urgent, magnificent
Take a closer look and you'll see
This dragon dance team with smooth movements
All are made up of women
They all looked heroic and radiant
When talking about dragon dance
There seems to be a gushing passion
This is exactly what the dragon and lion group of Hunan Normal University does
Women's Dragon Dance Team
The team has been formed for 26 years, and it is full of glorious history
When it comes to the dragon and lion troupe of Hunan Normal University, its reputation is well-known throughout the country. Founded in 1997, the Dragon and Lion Team is one of the first batch of national A-level Dragon and Lion teams, with a professional coaching team and training echelon, and is a high-quality team integrating teaching, scientific research, training, competition and performance, and has won many medals in various world-class and national dragon dance competitions.
Walking into the office of the Dragon and Lion Regiment, a number of medals and certificates were neatly arranged. "Since its establishment, the dragon dance team of Hunan Normal University has won 69 gold medals, 34 silver medals and 7 bronze medals in major national dragon and lion dance competitions, 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals in world-class championships, and cultivated 63 holders of the title of national 'athletes'. Ma Chaoqun, as the former captain of the men's dragon dance team and now the assistant coach of the dragon and lion troupe, talked about the story of himself and the dragon dance team of the Lake Normal University.
In 2018, Ma Chaoqun, a "post-00" student, entered Hunan Normal University and became the first student majoring in martial arts and traditional national sports. "At that time, the seniors said that the dragon and lion troupe of Lake Normal University was very powerful, and I had a folk sports course in my own major, so I wanted to try it. Ma Chaoqun recalled that he felt very magical when he touched the dragon lantern for the first time, "In the past, I would only see the dragon dance during the New Year's holidays, but now I am very excited to try the dragon dance, and the theoretical knowledge about the dragon dance that I learned in the professional class will finally be practiced in the dragon and lion troupe." ”
Coach Lei Junrong told the new players about the history of the dragon and lion troupe, **previous dragon dances**, the middle school seniors danced the golden dragon, shrugged left and right, slow and urgent, the dragon head grabbed the ball, the dragon body swam, so not smart and free. At that time, Ma Chaoqun thought: "I hope I can dance the dragon with the same momentum as the seniors." ”
Just when a group of freshmen joined the group and planned to "show their talents", the Dragon and Lion Group faced a "trough".
At that time, the women's dragon dance team of Lake Normal University had just won the first place in the 11th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championships. Ma Chaoqun said that this is a problem that the dragon and lion troupe will face every few sessions, even if there is reluctance, but the pace of graduation urges the team members to part, and this parting also takes away the continuation of the women's dragon dance team of Lake Normal University, and there is only one men's dragon dance team left in the dragon and lion troupe.
After 3 years, the dragon dance team has been revitalized
In 2021, Ma Chaoqun, who won the first place in the optional dragon dance event and the first place in the traditional dragon dance event of the 13th China University Dragon and Lion Dance Championships, became the assistant coach of the team.
We released recruitment promotions on various official platforms of Lake Normal University, and released news in all grade groups of the Institute of Physical Education, and finally some female students took the initiative to sign up and wanted to try dragon dance. Ma Chaoqun recalled that a total of 12 female students came to sign up at that time, and they just formed a dragon dance team. "Most of them are interested in dragon dance but have no experience, and everyone's physical fitness is not the same, so we can only start with physical fitness and theoretical knowledge and gradually improve. ”
Compared to boys, girls are less physically active, and what dragon dance needs most is strength. Ma Chaoqun arranged a series of special training according to the differences in everyone's physical fitness, and in a short period of time, many team members had blisters on their hands.
The dragon dance was really hard, and I felt like I couldn't hold on anymore. The team member cried.
As a new player, I also felt that it was very difficult, but considering the determination you made when you signed up and the hard work you have worked so long, you will definitely improve if you stick to it. Ma Chaoqun comforted softly.
In this way, in the diligent practice again and again, the dragon dance level of the team members gradually improved, and the team became more and more united. After more than a year of training, the newly formed women's dragon dance team ushered in the 14th China University Dragon and Lion Dance Championship.
Due to the special period, the competition adopts an online method, and the competition is recorded on the competition software**, and the jury judges will judge. Ma Chaoqun remembered that due to long-term training and pre-competition nervousness, as well as problems such as irregular movements and incorrect force, the two leading players of the dragon dance team were injured before and after. "During training, the team members said that their spine was very sore, and we immediately ran to the hospital to take a look, and it turned out that it was a fractured bone. Knowing that they were going to recuperate for a while, both players were frustrated: "If you recuperate, will it delay the team's training?" ”
Ma Chaoqun comforted them not to worry, while transferring leading players from the men's team or going into battle to continue to maintain the training of the women's team.
Because it was the first time to participate in the competition, the girls wearing colorful uniforms and holding dragon lanterns were very nervous, and after the simulation was recorded, there were mistakes in actions and routes.
It doesn't matter, you just think it's a show, and after practicing for more than 1 year, you should show the results of your efforts. With the encouragement of the coaches, the players regained their confidence, and they were in high spirits, with powerful movements, such as the eight-character dragon dance, spiral dragon jumping, and unilateral dragon movements, and the red dragon seemed to be alive, circling and rolling in their hands, and the red dragon's spine was like a lightning bolt, bringing brilliant sparks.
The hard work paid off, and the women's dragon dance team won the first place in Group C (high-level group) in this competition. When the team members thanked Lei Junrong and Ma Chaoqun, Ma Chaoqun said: "What you need most is to thank yourself, the dragon dance is different from other sports, it belongs to the glory of a team, the team members are indispensable, it is your persistence and unity that make the women's dragon dance team of Lake Normal University shine again." ”
Carry forward the past and forge ahead into the future, "dance" the spirit of the dragon and lion
Compared with the rustiness when the team was first formed, today's women's dragon dance team is full of tacit understanding, and has won many championships in the dragon dance events of the Chinese University Dragon and Lion Dance Championship and the National Dragon and Lion Dance Championship. Some time ago, Ma Chaoqun took the team members to Zhoukou, Henan Province and Nanjing, Jiangsu Province to participate in the 15th China University Dragon and Lion Dance Championship and the 15th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championship respectively.
Before going to Zhoukou, Henan, the team members were very excited, but after nearly 10 hours of sitting down on the bus, everyone was more or less uncomfortable. Ma Chaoqun recalled that the team took the red dragon on a long trek, and when they arrived in Zhoukou, they were very tired, so he could only let the players rest a lot, and practice some of the team's good moves in the daily training before the game, so as to help everyone find their form and improve their confidence.
I have a lot of experience and I know that the most important thing before a race is to improve the confidence of the team. Ma Chaoqun said that the team members grew rapidly after going to Henan to compete, and then went to Jiangsu to participate in the 15th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championships, they adapted well, and won the first place in the women's group of dragon dance optional routines.
The National Dragon and Lion Dance Championship is a national-level A-level event with a higher degree of professionalism and more complete items. The 15th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championship attracted more than 1,000 participants from 19 provinces (municipalities and districts) across the country. Ma Chaoqun said frankly that many professional dragon dance groups are the strongest competitors of the Hushi Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, but he said proudly: "The Hushi Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe can be said to be 'invincible all over the world' in the college team, although we will meet strong opponents in the National Dragon and Lion Dance Championships, but we are not afraid at all, and the goal has always been the champion." ”
With the gradual addition of young players, the Dragon and Lion Troupe of the Lake Division has regained its strength after a period of trough and reshaped the glory of the year. Today, there are nearly 60 active members of the Dragon and Lion Troupe, including 2 men's dragon dance teams, 1 women's dragon dance team, and 1 lion dance team. Some of the former players have also transformed into coaches, so that the spirit of "teamwork, tenacious struggle, loyalty to duty, and advocating honor" has been passed on from generation to generation.
In 2023, the Hunan Dragon and Lion Sports Association was established, and Hunan also had its own dragon and lion dance championship. "In the future, in addition to provincial and domestic competitions, we also hope to represent China to carry out dragon dance teaching activities around the world, just like the predecessors of the Dragon and Lion Troupe, so that more people can understand the spirit of dragon dance and promote national culture. Ma Chaoqun said with a smile.

From the principal of Meiyuan Middle School and the principal of Chating Qiaoyi District School
The head coach of the dragon dance to 25 local rural campuses
The story of Zhu Li and the Plum Garden Middle School Girls' Dragon Dance Team
Singing all the way from campus
Sang all over the golden sea of flowers in the tea pavilion
It was also sung into the hearts of every student
When I first arrived, I formed a student dragon dance team
In March 2023, at the annual Chating Flower Sea Art Festival, the Dragon Soul Dragon Dance Team of Meiyuan Middle School brought a superb performance, and more than 100 colorful dragons flew together in the golden sea of flowers, becoming one of the most popular programs among tourists.
The "Dragon Soul" dragon dance team of Meiyuan Middle School was formed in July 2021, which is also the time when Zhu Li came to the tea pavilion. "Meiyuan Middle School is a boarding school, and the 260 students are all children from the surrounding villages (communities), most of them are left-behind children, and there are not many art and sports activities in the school. Zhu Li said that he hopes to give children a stage to become confident and cheerful by inheriting and learning dragon dance skills.
I traveled far and wide to buy 4 nine dragon lanterns and more than 260 Chinese martial dragons for Meiyuan Middle School. Students are also encouraged to sign up. Zhu Li talked about the beginning of the team, still fresh in his memory, "Dragon dance is a sport that requires physical strength and strength, I selected a group of registered students with good physical fitness and strong bouncing ability, according to height, physical fitness, etc., the students will be assigned to the appropriate position, first for them physical fitness and strength training, and then combined with the best for theoretical and practical teaching." ”
There is a saying in dragon dance: "Tired of the dragon's head, run out of the dragon's tail." "The choice of the leader is very important, and it requires players with strength, good fitness and strong organizational skills. Tan Yuting, a student from Meiyuan Middle School, is the leader of the team, "At first, I learned because of interest, but after practicing, I found that it was very hard. Today, Tan Yuting wields the dragon head with ease, and also serves as the captain of the dragon dance team. The lively and cheerful Zhou Wenqin is in charge of the dragon tail position, and her physical fitness and adaptability are particularly strong; The introverted Tan Aohui was specially placed in the Dragon Ball position by Zhu Li, aiming to train her to dare to show and express herself, and she is also one of the many children who have become confident because of the dragon dance.
He is not only the principal, but also the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage
Zhu Li, born in 1988, is a rural child in Wangcheng, who has been particularly fond of dragon dance since he was a child, and he really came into contact with dragon dance in 2006.
I joined the school dragon dance team after I was admitted to university, and after entering the school dragon dance team, I found that I really learned a lot about dragon dance. In 2010, after graduating from Zhu Li University, he was admitted to Xingcheng Experimental Middle School of the High School Affiliated to Hunan Normal University and became a physical education teacher. In a young teacher competition, Zhu Li decided to take a special dragon dance class. "At that time, I didn't have time to purchase, so I made a homemade 'mop dragon'. Unexpectedly, Zhu Li's dragon dance class won unanimous praise from teachers and students, and he also developed the first school-based textbook "Dragon Dance", formed the first junior high school "Dragon Soul" dragon dance team in Wangcheng, and began to teach dragon dance skills to children.
For more than ten years, no matter how he was transferred, Zhu Li did not forget to spread the dragon dance culture. Under his leadership, the growing "Dragon Soul" dragon dance team has participated in a number of domestic and foreign competitions, and has won the gold medal, the best performance award, and the best inheritance award in the international and national dragon and lion dance competitions, and won 19 gold medals and 3 silver medals.
In 2022, the dragon dance project was officially included in the curriculum content of the Ministry of Education's "Compulsory Education Curriculum Plan and Curriculum Standards (2022 Edition)", and Zhu Li seized this important opportunity and opportunity to focus on building a dragon dance project in the schools in the Chatingqiaoyi area, where 25 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens currently have dragon dance teams.
The dragon dance allows rural students to stand on the big stage
Through the dragon dance, the students' physical fitness has been improved, their self-confidence has been enhanced, and they have also cultivated the sportsmanship of hard-working, solidarity and cooperation, and perseverance. When Zhu Li first came to Chating, Meiyuan Middle School was a very ordinary village school, "I hope that every child can have a healthy body and a sound personality, and can grow up healthy and happy." Zhu Li said that as a teacher, children should cultivate "lion-like physical strength, monkey-like agility, and camel-like spirit."
In mid-March 2023, in a sea of golden rape flowers, four "long dragons" danced, and the scene was quite spectacular. Driven by Zhu Li, the students of Meiyuan Middle School danced the golden dragon in their hands and danced in the sea of tea pavilion flowers, and the women's dragon dance team of Meiyuan Middle School also sang all the way from the campus, singing all over the golden sea of flowers in the tea pavilion, and also sang into the hearts of every tea pavilion person.
Zhu Li felt that he had the responsibility and obligation to pass on the dragon dance project. At the National "Intangible Cultural Heritage" Dragon and Lion Dance Project Exhibition and Performance Competition, Zhu Li won the Best Inheritance Award and the Best Performance Award with the Women's Dragon Dance Team of Chating Middle School on her first trip. From 2022 to 2023, at the dragon dance competition of the two "Lei Xiaofeng" Super Games held by the school in Chating Qiaoyi District, 40 dragon dance teams will be magnificent. This intangible cultural heritage movement, which became popular in rural schools, finally carried the children's efforts and hopes and walked to the big stage, allowing more people to see the story of the tea pavilion and the dragon dance.
In 2018, the Dragon and Lion Dance Association of Wangcheng District, Changsha City was established, and every Spring Festival, the association will actively hold large-scale dragon and lion competitions and dragon and lion performances. "This is a grand event for dragon dance lovers in Wangcheng District, and streets, towns, and schools from all over the country will actively participate. Zhu Li said with a smile that every dragon and lion activity is very lively, and people also feel the charm of traditional intangible cultural heritage culture in each activity.
Today, the traditional skill of dragon dance has become a favorite sport for thousands of teachers and students in the Chating Qiaoyi District School, setting off an upsurge of dragon dance intangible cultural heritage. Zhu Li said: "I hope that through the dragon dance, more people can understand the traditional intangible cultural heritage. In 2024, more than 4,000 teachers and students from Chatingqiaoyi District School will also bring more innovative and lively dragon dance performances to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with everyone. ”
