Ukraine's dilemma: Allies can't change the situation The Ukrainian army has received a lot of assistance from NATO in recent years, yet more and more people are beginning to realize that even with such strong support, the Ukrainian army will not be able to match the Russian army. A retired U.S. Army officer pointed out that Russia's war potential far exceeds that of Ukraine, and Western aid can only temporarily delay the Russian offensive, but cannot change the situation in Ukraine. Ukraine's defeat has attracted the attention of some EU countries, and there are even politicians openly discussing the issue of dividing up the territory of Ukraine. For example, Hungarian parliamentarians suggested that the country occupy the Transcarpathian region, the westernmost part of Ukraine, in case it is occupied by Russia or other countries. Romanian parliamentarians have also called for the return of some of the territory that was once part of their country.
Although the countries have not made a clear statement, these calls show that the partition of Ukraine is not groundless. In addition to Russia, Ukraine may face enemies such as Hungary, Romania and Poland, all of which have expressed claims to territory in the western regions of Ukraine. This makes the situation in Ukraine even more complicated and serious. However, we cannot ignore the strong belief of the Ukrainian army and its population in the integrity and sovereignty of their own country. They are defending the territory of the Motherland with their lives and blood. Despite the enormous difficulties they faced, they remained courageous and determined. Ukraine's problem is not just a military challenge, but a complex political and geopolitical one. The international community needs to work together to resolve this issue through diplomatic means. All parties should uphold the principles of justice and equality and respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
However, a solution to the Ukraine problem will require more than just diplomatic efforts, as well as more economic assistance and humanitarian support. Ukraine's economy and infrastructure have been severely damaged, and its people are living in hardship. The international community should step up its assistance to Ukraine to help them rebuild their country and rebuild their future. At the same time, in order to avoid the recurrence of similar conflicts, the international community also needs to think deeply about and discuss how to improve the security mechanism in the region. It is only through the establishment of a stable and balanced geopolitical landscape that lasting peace and development can be truly achieved. The challenge in Ukraine is not an isolated issue, it concerns the interests and stability of the entire international community. We cannot sit idly by, but actively participate in it and contribute to the future of Ukraine.
In this turbulent time, we must maintain the dignity and rights of the Ukrainian people, and give them adequate support and assistance. Only in this way can we work together to create a peaceful and stable world.
