On the dashboard of the car, we see the most is the speed and engine speed, in fact, there is a lot of information on the instrument, such as when the vehicle is faulty, the fault light will be lit to remind the driver that the vehicle is faulty and needs to be repaired. There are many fault lights on the car, and they have different appearances, today we are going to talk about fault lights that affect safety or will have serious damage to the vehicle, once they are on, you need to stop immediately, and you can not continue to drive. There are mainly the following 5 fault lights.
1.Water temperature warning light.
This fault light is often lit in the summer, especially on some old cars. The light is on, indicating that the water temperature is too high at this time, and the high water temperature is very harmful. The water temperature rises, and the temperature around the engine cylinders is the highest, because the gasoline burns in the cylinders, and the heat generated cannot be dissipated quickly, all concentrated around the cylinders. This will lead to ablation and deformation of the cylinder block, resulting in oil and air leakage. Even the cylinder head gasket can be damaged, resulting in the oil passage and the coolant waterway can not be effectively isolated, because the coolant pressure is high, it often enters the oil passage, and with the flow of oil, it flows to various parts of the engine, damaging the engine.
2.Oil pressure fault lamp.
The light is on to indicate that there is a problem with the oil pressure, because the oil is delivered from the bottom of the oil pan to all parts of the engine through the oil pump, and there must be a certain amount of pressure to quickly and sufficiently deliver it to any place where lubrication is needed. If the oil pressure is insufficient, the lubrication will not be sufficient in some areas, especially in the highest camshafts. If the lubrication is insufficient, it can cause it to wear out quickly, produce squeak or make the engine intake and exhaust valves open incorrectly.
3.Tire pressure warning light.
The tire pressure warning light is on, which is usually caused by insufficient air pressure on a certain tire. At this time, if the tire pressure is still displayed, then check the tire pressure first, if it exceeds 10bar, you can continue to drive to a nearby repair shop to inflate. However, if there is no repair shop nearby and you need to travel a long distance, you should replace the spare tire before driving. If the tire pressure is not displayed, you need to get out of the car to check the tire pressure, if the air pressure is almost gone, replace the spare tire in time.
4.Battery alarm light.
Once the battery light is on, it means that there is a fault in the charging system, usually the generator is damaged, and it is no longer generating electricity. At this time, if you continue to drive, all the electricity used in the car comes from the battery, which will soon run out of battery power, causing the vehicle to fail to start.
5.The handbrake light is on.
The handbrake light will turn on when the handbrake is pulled up, and it will turn off immediately when the handbrake is released. However, if the handbrake light is on while driving, it means that the brake fluid is insufficient and there may be a leak. If you continue to drive without checking at this time, the brake fluid will eventually leak, which will cause the brake to fail.
The above 5 brake lights are the most critical lights on the car, once they are on, they need to stop immediately, and if they can check them, they can check them by themselves, or drive them to a nearby repair shop. If you can't check it yourself, and there is no repair shop nearby, try to call for help, and don't continue to open it again, in case the fault expands and increases your own losses.
