Ball screw, as a high-precision, high-efficiency transmission element, is widely used in various mechanical fields. Its working principle is based on the rolling and sliding characteristics of the ball, which converts the rotational motion into linear motion, thus achieving high-precision and high-efficiency transmission.
Ball screws are mainly composed of screws, nuts, and balls. The surface of the screw has a spiral groove, and the groove is equipped with balls. As the screw rotates, the ball rolls in the spiral groove while moving forward by the forward squeezing force. Since the rolling friction of the ball is much less than the sliding friction, the transmission efficiency of the ball screw is very high, and it is able to achieve high-precision linear motion.
The working principle of ball screws can be divided into three main steps:
The balls enter the spiral groove:As the screw rotates, the balls are brought into the spiral groove and rolled inside the groove. Since the balls are shaped in the same shape as the spiral groove, the balls can roll smoothly after entering the spiral groove.
Ball Push Nut:As the ball rolls inside the spiral groove, the ball is squeezed forward, pushing the nut along its axis. Since the rolling friction of the ball is small, a large amount of force and torque can be transmitted.
Nut Move:When the nut is pushed by the ball, it moves in the direction of the axis. This linear motion is exactly what the ball screw needs to do.
