ECHA Chem is our new solution for publishing chemical information, the first version is now available, including all REACH registration information – and more to come.

Helsinki, 30 January 2024 – ECHA, which maintains the largest chemical database in the European Union (EU), combining data submitted by industry with information generated during the EU's regulatory process, ECACHEM is the new solution for sharing with the public the growing amount of information hosted by the agency.

In the first edition of ECHA Chem, you can find information on more than 100,000 REACH registrations submitted to ECHA by all companies. Later this year, the database will be expanded to include a redesigned list of classifications and labels, followed by the first set of regulatory lists. Mercedes Vi As, Director of Submission and Engagement at ECHA, said:

ECHA Chem is an important step forward in enhancing our chemical data sharing services collected through ECHA's current activities, which makes information available in a user-friendly manner** within a stable system. ”

"ECHA Chem is designed to be a flexible technology platform capable of processing large amounts of data and can be adjusted to different needs, such as new tasks assigned to ECHA," said Kaitaka-Aho, Director of Information Systems. Therefore, it can be said that the technology choice of ECHA Chem is indeed a future-proof solution. ”

ECHA Chem is ECHA's new public chemical database to be launched in early 2024. Initially, it included the data submitted by the company in the REACH registration. Over the next few years, ECHA will gradually transfer its publicly available data from its current location (chemical search) to ECHA CHEM.

During the transition period, users may need to consult with ECHA Chem and the former platform. As a support during the transition, on this webpage we will compile practical information on the gradual transfer to ECHA CHEM.
