Sleeping under the banner of the party was his last wish. In 2017, the 98-year-old Zhong Fazhen finally got his wish, covered with a bright red party flag, and stopped breathing forever. Before he died, he also told his family that the party flag must be buried with him.
Seeing the old man close his eyes, the Zhong family sobbed softly. This old man has had a magnificent life and has experienced times that cannot be imagined by our generation. What is even more admirable is that he is an ordinary farmer's child, but he has firm ideals and beliefs, always strives for the light, and never gives up even if his fate is unfortunate.
Thinking of this, the Zhong family couldn't help but be in awe - after all the ups and downs of his life, he persevered to the end, this is the spirit of a Communist Party member!
Throughout Zhong Fazhen's life, the most critical turning point occurred during the Anti-Japanese War. At that time, he was just a small soldier of the Western Route Army, but he experienced the hardships and blood and tears of the Western Expedition, and was even captured in the enemy camp for two years. If it weren't for his indomitable fighting spirit, how could he survive under the siege of the enemy with just a grass man?
In order for Zhong Fazhen to complete this magnificent life path, the seeds of the revolutionary era undoubtedly played a decisive role. Thinking of this, we have to go back to the boyhood of Zhongfa Town-
In 1919, Zhong Fazhen was born in a poor peasant family in Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province. At that time, it was a revolutionary wave of "fighting local tyrants and dividing the land" in the countryside, and the poor peasants turned over and became the masters of their own affairs, and Zhongfa Town was also able to get rid of poverty and go to school. Feeling the power of the revolution, he was determined to join the Red Army when he grew up and serve the great cause of the poor peasants to turn over.
In 1932, he finally got his wish and joined the Red Army as a 13-year-old boy. At first, due to his thin stature, Zhong Fazhen could only work as a small medical nurse in a military hospital. But he was motivated and soon made a name for himself in theatrical performances. In 1935, Zhong Fazhen was arranged to study radio technology at the headquarters of the Red Fourth Front Army, starting a new chapter in his military career.
Soon, he accompanied the Red Fourth Front Army to the west and embarked on a long march full of unknowns. In the bloody battle with Ma Jiajun, Zhong Fazhen showed incredible courage and stubbornness. He was a civilian soldier who dared to cut off the legs of horses and fight the enemy with his own hands. This spirit of seeing death as if it were home is very admirable.
However, fate is impermanent, and it was during a breakout operation that Zhong Fazhen was captured by the Ma family's army. In the face of torture by the enemy, this young man who was not yet 20 years old showed great determination. He lied about being a medic and was finally averted from being executed.
With his fate on the horizon, Zhong Fazhen still did not give up hope. He deliberately curryed favor with the officers of the Ma Jiajun, and finally won the trust and was appointed as the elder father of an officer. Two years later, Zhong Fazhen seized the opportunity to escape and successfully escaped from the control of the Ma Jiajun.
When he made the arduous trek back to his hometown of Jiangxi, he found that his troops had already been transferred. In the residential area behind enemy lines, Zhongfa Town can only live incognito and make a living from farming. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he repeatedly sent letters to his old comrades-in-arms of the Western Route Army, asking for confirmation of his identity as a Red Army.
It was not until 1980 that with the proof of his old comrades-in-arms, Zhong Fazhen finally officially restored the identity of the Red Army's dead and separated personnel, and received the due honor and treatment. At the age of 98, he still remembers the years when he joined the army when he was young, and asked to cover his body with a party flag to show his infinite love for the party.
Tracing the life of this old man is deeply inspired. As Comrade *** said, all human actions originate from a belief. Zhong Lao's life is a simple and profound footnote.
Perhaps he was just one of the thousands of small soldiers of the Western Route Army, and even in the most difficult times, could not return to the troops. But he always maintained a pure heart and persevered in the struggle for his ideals. It was this spirit that allowed him to survive one political storm after another and never give up his revolutionary ideals.
Zhong Lao used his life to practice the principle of "emphasizing politics with a clear banner". His life is worth learning from every one of our young people. No matter how difficult the situation is, as long as there are ideals and beliefs as a guide, we will naturally endure the wind and rain and move forward bravely. Such a spirit is precisely the hallmark of the Chinese nation's indomitable and tenacious struggle.
