Epidemic characteristics: chickens of different ages are susceptible to infection, and adult chickens and young chickens are intoxicated. The disease is caused by a viral infection or an immune trigger, and mainly occurs in the cold season of winter and spring. The infection rate can reach 90%, the mortality rate can reach 5-70%, generally 10-20%, and the mortality rate of high-yielding chickens is high.
Clinical symptoms: Typical symptoms are neck extension and mouth breathing, elongated sound, and strange screaming. Acute side-by-side coughing up bloody mucus thrown on the chicken coop or on the ground. In chronic cases, the oral cavity is examined, and the throat is blocked with a yellowish cheese-like substance, and in severe cases, dyspnea, often death from asphyxia, and yellow-white-green loose stools.
Necropsy lesions: severe nasal congestion, bleeding, and excessive nasal juice. Acute cases of laryngeal and tracheal mucosal congestion, hemorrhage, ulcers;There is a needle point in the larynx, and there is a large amount of bloody sputum in the trachea, or a blood strip is formed, and in severe cases, the blood strip extends to the bronchi;In chronic cases, there is a yellowish-white cheese-like blockage in the larynx, or a strip or loose yellow-white cheese-like substance in the trachea.
Prevention and control measures and clinical experience:
1.Doing a good job in feeding management, preventing stress, and paying attention to ventilation are the prerequisites for fish tank disease. Vaccine immunization is an important measure. The use of the vaccine should be carried out in goose breeding in accordance with the instructions for use.
2.In the early stage of the disease, laryngitis vaccine can be urgently vaccinated, and the drip method is less stressful than that of the eye during vaccination. For sick chickens with obvious difficulty in breathing, tweezers can be used to remove the yellow-white cheese clogged in the throat. Choose Chinese medicine drinking water or mixtures with ingredients such as bezoar, borneol, toad crisp, etc., and use them for 4-5 days. For severe cases, use laryngeal disease powder or Liushen pill 1-2 times a day, and use it for 3 days.
