The traditional consumption of the people during the Mid-Autumn Festival is moon cakes, but many businesses add titanium dioxide to moon cakes to make moon cakes look fresher, titanium dioxide is an additive used in pigments, adhesives and plastics, which can cause changes in human DNA, and can also cause damage to organs such as the brain, and can injure the liver and kidneys. Europe has listed titanium dioxide as a toxic food additive, and on September 20, 2023, mooncakes produced in China and exported to the EU were detected to contain the unauthorized additive titanium dioxide, which may cause health problems. 2. How to solve the dilemma of food safety?
Food safety is a systematic project, China attaches great importance to the food safety of the people, and must work together from food standards, safety awareness, safety law enforcement and other aspects.
1. Further improve the relevant laws and regulations on food safety. China's first Food Safety Law was introduced in 2009 and revised in 2015. In recent years, relevant departments have also issued rules and regulations to strengthen risk management, and China's food safety situation has been improving.
