On May 5, 2023, the world's first reactor demonstration project of China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology Hualong No. 1 - CNNC Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit officially passed the completion acceptance. Hualong No. 1 is a major achievement made by CNNC and all parties in adhering to the path of independent innovation with Chinese characteristics, and is a "national business card" and a national brand, which contains the ideal pursuit of self-reliance and self-improvement in the nuclear industry. The completion of the world's first demonstration project of Hualong No. 1 marks that China's nuclear power technology level and comprehensive strength rank among the world's first phalanx, greatly enhance the global competitiveness of China's nuclear power, play an important role in optimizing China's energy structure and promoting green and low-carbon development, and also provide a good reference for the follow-up batch construction project of Hualong No. 1. 
Once a year, "steady climbing" builds a solid cornerstone
China National Nuclear Corporation Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fuqing Nuclear Power) site has stable geological conditions and is one of the rare nuclear power plant sites on the southeast coast of China. The project plans to continuously build 6 million kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power units at one time, with a capacity of 66780,000 kilowatts Units 1-4 adopt the second-generation improved pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology, and the units adopt China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology Hualong No. 1. 
The construction site is in full swing, the shuttle is busy with transportation vehicles, the non-stop project builders, and the system debuggers who stay up all night ......During the busiest period, more than 20,000 people took root in the construction site, and the construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the unit were carried out on site at the same time. Finally, in 2022, the two units of the Hualong No. 1 demonstration project will be fully completed and put into operation. The construction and operation of the Fuqing nuclear power unit demonstrated the "Fuqing speed", realized the full recovery of the shareholders' capital investment, and handed in a "high-score answer sheet" for the construction of the project. In 2015, the world's first Hualong No. 1 demonstration project was settled in Fuqing to start construction, in 2021, the world's first Hualong No. 1 reactor was put into commercial operation, and in 2022, the world's first Hualong No. 1 demonstration project was fully completed, and it was unveiled at the "Striving for a New Era" theme exhibition, and won the title ......of "Top Ten National Heavy Weapons" of central enterprises for two consecutive years

Ten years of sharpening a sword, sharpened to the fragrance of plum blossoms. After the completion of the world's first reactor demonstration project of Hualong No. 1, the annual power generation capacity of the six units of the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant will exceed 50 billion kWh, which is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by more than 15 million tons, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 40 million tons, and planting 110,000 hectares of trees, which is about half the area of Fuqing City. Since then, Fuqing Nuclear Power has become the largest nuclear power base in operation and installed capacity of CNNC. 
The world's first demonstration project of Hualong No. 1 has been fully completed, which fully verifies the new achievements of the new first-class system. In the meantime, CNNC has taken the market-oriented mechanism as a link, played the role of the chain leader, a number of equipment manufacturing enterprises jointly tackled key problems, and tens of thousands of builders continued to fight with "small core and big cooperation", and the Fuqing Nuclear Power Base gave full play to the leading role of the party in the construction of major projects, innovated and implemented the party building and joint construction mechanism of demonstration projects, and cooperated with the participating units and supervision units to give full play to the synergistic role and create the "best performance" of the world's third-generation nuclear power first reactor construction, which fully demonstrated the political advantages of concentrating on major things under the leadership of the party. Experience sharing, fully promote the take-off of Hualong
As the location of the world's first reactor demonstration project of Hualong No. 1, it is the mission and unshirkable responsibility of Fuqing Nuclear Power to promote the commissioning, operation and maintenance experience of Hualong No. 1 and help the construction of Hualong No. 1 unit at home and abroad. Units 2 and 3 of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (hereinafter referred to as "K-2 K-3 units") are the first overseas projects of Hualong No. 1, China's independent third-generation nuclear power technology, and the two units were successfully put into commercial operation in April 2022, which is of great significance for promoting the realization of the global goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" and jointly responding to the global climate crisis. During the construction and commercial operation of the K-2 and K-3 units, Fuqing Nuclear Power sent multiple batches and many times of nuclear power workers to support the construction and commissioning of the units. 
In 2022, during the first refueling overhaul of the first overseas Hualong No. 1 unit, more than 10 experts sent by Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. overcame the dual challenges of the epidemic and high temperature, and devoted themselves to the on-site work of the first overseas Hualong No. 1 with rigorous and meticulous work style, active and pragmatic work attitude, exquisite skills and abundant enthusiasm. Since 2020, Fuqing Nuclear Power has exported more than 400 talents to Hualong No. 1 nuclear power units and other new nuclear power projects at home and abroad, all of whom have many years of relevant experience in Hualong No. 1 demonstration project, covering installation and commissioning, project control, equipment procurement, design management, safety and quality, nuclear safety, operation and maintenance and other professional fields, providing firm talent support for the batch construction and "going out" of Hualong No. 1, and providing good management practice reference for the development of nuclear power industrialization.
