Recently, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Base ushered in the groundbreaking ceremony of the southern phase II of the cogeneration project, an important supporting public project of the Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project. This marks a substantial construction step for the project and injects new impetus into the development of Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Base.
The planning of the second phase of the southern project includes the construction of two 830th ultra-high pressure and high-temperature pulverized coal boilers and two 75MW ultra-high pressure and high-temperature back-pressure steam turbine units. With a total investment of more than 2 billion yuan, the project covers an area of 121 acres and is planned to be completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2026. This important utility project will provide stable energy support for the Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project and further promote the development of the entire petrochemical base.
Zhongsha Gulei ethylene project is an important part of Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Base, with a total investment of 420700 million yuan, covering an area of 2971,855 hectares, covering 14 sets of chemical plants including the newly built 1.5 million tons of ethylene and downstream plants. The estimated construction period is 54 months, including ethylene and downstream, propylene and downstream plants, and some propylene downstream supporting facilities. In addition, pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation, butadiene extraction, butene-1 unit and aromatic hydrocarbon extraction are also supported.
In terms of technology, the project adopts a variety of advanced production technologies, including low-pressure gas-phase fluidized bed technology, slurry process technology, ethylene oligomerization process technology, etc. This diversified process selection will provide technical support for the sustainable development of the project, so that it can achieve greater achievements in ethylene and downstream, propylene and downstream.
