At the same time, it will actively communicate with the liquidators, cooperate with the liquidators in performing relevant procedures in accordance with the law, and promote debt resolution in accordance with international practices and market rules. In addition, Evergrande will also steadily promote key tasks such as ensuring the delivery of buildings.

Sean stressed that the subject of the overseas winding-up order issued by the court this time is China Evergrande, which is listed in Hong Kong. At present, the management and operation system of Evergrande Group and other domestic and foreign subsidiaries as independent legal entities remain unchanged, and the Group will still strive to do everything possible to ensure the stability of domestic business and operation, steadily promote key tasks such as ensuring the delivery of buildings, maintain the quality of property services without being affected, and will still make every effort to ensure the smooth promotion of risk resolution and asset disposal, and will still try its best to promote various tasks in accordance with the law and fairly.

On January 29, China Evergrande was arraigned again in the High Court of Hong Kong. The judge formally ordered China Evergrande to wind up. On the same day, Hong Kong stocks China Evergrande, Evergrande Automobile, and Evergrande Property were suspended intraday.

Previously, the hearings on Evergrande's liquidation had been postponed several times. On the afternoon of December 4, 2023, China Evergrande announced that the High Court of Hong Kong had approved Evergrande's winding-up petition filed by offshore investor Jiasheng Global. The hearing of the petition was further adjourned to 29 January 2024, which is the seventh time that the hearing of the petition for winding-up has been adjourned. Previously, the Company filed the petition on 27 June 2022 and issued notices on 5 September 2022, 8 September 2022, 28 November 2022, 20 March 2023, 31 July 2023 and 30 October 2023. The amount of claims involved in the above petition is about 8HK$62.5 billion.

According to the latest data disclosed by China Evergrande, as of the end of November 2023, Evergrande Real Estate has accumulated about 3,163 outstanding due debts$9.1 billion; At the end of October the figure was 30136.3 billion yuan. In addition, as of the end of November 2023, Evergrande Real Estate has accumulated about 2,055 overdue commercial bills3.7 billion yuan.
