The World Meteorological Organization said it was the eighth consecutive month of the highest temperature for the same period, and sea surface temperatures continued to hit record highs.

The World Meteorological Organization said this does not mean that the global average temperature has risen beyond the 15 degrees Celsius target. The Paris Agreement refers to years of long-term global warming, rather than a one-time increase in a month or year that exceeds the temperature limit.
Data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service also showed that the temperature in January this year was 070 degrees Celsius, 0 degrees higher than the previous hottest January set in 202012 degrees Celsius.
The Copernicus Climate Change Service said that El NiƱo in the equatorial Pacific region began to weaken this year, but sea surface temperatures remained unusually high overall.
