Recently, there has been a wave of "boycotting Chinese goods" in India, smashing Chinese-made TVs for a while, and boycotting electronic products imported from China for a while, etc., it seems that the Indian people are more excited. When they heard that the Indian people were going to smash Chinese goods, many people in China also began to look for them, are there any Indian goods that can be boycotted? As a result, after looking for a long time, I didn't see the figure of "Made in India". It seems that the Chinese people want to boycott Made in India but cannot find relevant goods.
In fact, Made in India is hard to find in China. According to the data, the current bilateral amount between China and India is about 100 billion US dollars. In 2018, the bilateral ** amount between China and India was 955$400 million. Among them, China's exports to India are 767100 million US dollars, imported from India 188$300 million. Between China and India, China has a surplus of 578$800 million. This shows that it is mainly India that imports goods to China, while India exports relatively few goods to China. China and India currently have a long-term surplus.
So, what exactly are the goods that India exports to China? The first category is primary products. Due to India's manufacturing industry, China's imports from India are mainly raw materials and semi-finished products, and a very small number of manufactured products are manufactured products. In terms of value, India's exports to China mainly include some primary products such as mineral products, base metals and products, and chemical products. India's industrial base is weak, there is no complete industrial system, and the proportion of manufacturing in India's total economy is only 158%。India's manufacturing sector is not as developed as its service sector.
The second category, generic drugs, is actually copycat drugs. It is a generic drug made by India by plagiarizing the recipes of pharmaceutical factories in Western countries. However, generic drugs are not high-tech products, and if patent issues are not considered, Chinese generic drugs do better than India. India introduced a new patent law in 1970 that does not recognize product patents for pharmaceutical products, but only patents on manufacturing methods. Because India is closely following the Western camp, European and American countries are "turning a blind eye" to India's generic drug production, and the most important thing is that India is thick enough, so India can become the largest country in generic drugs.
In the third category, the Land Rover cars we drive in China are imported from India. The Land Rover brand originated in the United Kingdom, but was acquired by India's Tata Group many years ago, and after India acquired the brand, it set up a production line in India, which produces products mainly for the Asian market, including China. Back in 2012, Land Rover's production capacity was 3-40,000 units. According to Land Rover, 80% of the cars they produce will be exported to Asian countries, and anyone with a discerning eye knows that China will be the largest exporter of these Indian-made Land Rovers. The Land Rover driven by many people in China is actually synonymous with Made in India.
Fourth, movies produced by Indian Bollywood are also deeply loved by Chinese people. When I was a kid, I had "The Wanderer's Song", "The Caravan". In recent years, "Slumdog Millionaire", "Baahubali 2: The End", "Three Fools in Bollywood" and so on are all excellent Indian films liked by inland people. Compared to the manufacturing industry in India, the film industry in India seems to be one of the few things that Indians can get their hands on.
There are two main reasons why Indian manufacturing cannot develop as quickly as made in China: one is that Indians are lazy and rely on imports for everything, and only after Modi came to power did they begin to pay attention to the development of Indian manufacturing. The second is that India's labor force is of low quality and cannot meet the needs of manufacturing upgrading. India has 2With 700 million illiterate people, it is the most illiterate country in the world, which directly restricts the industrial upgrading of Indian manufacturing. It is precisely because India's manufacturing industry is too backward that even if the Chinese people want to boycott Indian manufacturing, it is difficult to find a target. Even if it is like the Indian god oil and Indian flying cake sold in the domestic market, this is made by Chinese companies, and it is also authentic Chinese goods.
