Sun Yat-sen called Xu Shuzheng a "contemporary class super".
However, Xu Shuzheng, whom Sun Yat-sen valued, was very talented, but his fate was very changeable, and he finally died under Feng Yuxiang's gun.
What is the reason for Feng Yuxiang to attack Xu Shuzheng?
Today, let's talk about this.
Some people say that Feng Yuxiang cleaned up Xu Shuzheng just to take revenge
Xu Shuzheng can have a career in troubled times, mainly because he has extremely outstanding talent, but behind his outstanding talent, his unruly and fierce personality has offended many people.
But even so, it still failed to stop Duan Qirui's trust in him, and Xu Shuzheng was Duan Qirui's first confidant.
After the death of Yuan Shikai, various warlords in the country rose, and the warlords of the Anhui lineage, the direct lineage, and the Jin system rose in the north, and the Feng warlords were centered on Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Zuoxiang, the Anhui warlords were Duan Qirui and Xu Shuzheng, and the Jin warlords were Yan Xishan and Fu Zuoyi.
In 1917, Feng Guozhang, the acting of Beiyang, and Duan Qirui, the premier, had a great dispute, and the origin of this dispute was whether to unify the south by force or peace.
Feng Guozhang hoped for "peace talks between the north and the south," while Duan Qirui insisted on "reunification by force." Xu Shuzheng undoubtedly supported Duan Qirui, and the "reunification by force" proposed by Duan Qirui was proposed by himself, so Xu Shuzheng definitely supported it.
In order to make the plan go smoothly, Xu Shuzheng booby-trapped Lu Jianzhang on June 14, 1918.
This incident made Feng Yuxiang very unhappy, and the reason why Feng Yuxiang was unhappy was mainly because Lu Jianzhang was his uncle, and he was also a key figure in his rise.
Under the influence of this relationship, you say that Feng Yuxiang can not hate Lu Jianzhang.
In July 1920, the Anhui warlords were defeated by the Zhifeng coalition army, and Duan Qirui and Xu Shuzheng began to gradually decline. Four years later, Feng Yuxiang occupied Beijing and drove out the last emperor, Puyi, after which he began to cooperate with the Feng warlord Zhang Zuolin.
On December 30, 1925, Xu Shuzheng rushed from Beijing to Tianjin, and was arrested by Feng Yuxiang in Langfang.
After Xu Shuzheng's death, Duan Qirui cried and became angry, but all this was useless, because he could not save Xu Shuzheng's life, nor could he avenge him.
On the surface, Feng Yuxiang's actions are revenge, but in fact, there are deep-seated reasons.
Deep-seated reason: Xu Shuzheng sabotaged Feng Yuxiang's deployment
Feng Yuxiang, like other warlords, is a person whose interests come first.
When the Qing Dynasty was about to finish the calf, Feng Yuxiang began to oppose the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Shikai was about to fall, Feng Yuxiang immediately opposed Yuan Shikai, Duan Qirui couldn't do it, Feng Yuxiang immediately opposed Duan Qirui, the direct line was not okay, and immediately opposed the direct line, and then he opposed Zhang Zuolin and the national **, and finally threw himself into the right embrace.
It can be seen from here that Feng Yuxiang is not an emotional person from beginning to end, so it is unlikely that he killed Xu Shuzheng for revenge.
So what is the matter that makes Feng Yuxiang kill Xu Shuzheng.
I think there are two main things.
1, Duan Qirui re-became **.
In 1924, after Feng Yuxiang's troops entered Beijing, they quickly controlled the whole of Beijing, then controlled Cao Kun, and then drove out the last emperor Puyi, and finally negotiated with the direct warlords and asked Duan Qirui to go out of the mountains as a puppet. Feng Yuxiang's actions caused Xu Shuzheng's serious dissatisfaction, and he told Duan Qirui that this position was a puppet and had no power at all.
Later, after Feng Yuxiang knew about this matter, he was very unhappy.
2, Duan Qirui broke Feng Yuxiang's strategic plan.
Feng Yuxiang had certain ambitions, although he cooperated with Zhang Zuolin, but he hoped to control more, so that he would have an advantage, so he made an anti-Feng plan with Guo Songling and Li Jinglin, and then his army occupied his territory when it passed through Li Jinglin's territory.
On December 10, 1925, Xu Shuzheng came back from abroad and saw the situation in China at this time, Feng Yuxiang and Zhang Zuolin grabbed territory, and Sun Chuanfang of Zhejiang rose to fight against the Feng warlords and went south.
So, Xu Shuzheng persuaded Zhang Zuolin and Sun Chuanfang to cooperate and drive Feng Yuxiang away. This matter was soon known by Feng Yuxiang, Feng Yuxiang was very unhappy, and he couldn't bear it anymore and decided to get rid of Xu Shuzheng.
So, Xu Shuzheng died in the hands of Feng Yuxiang on December 30, 1925, ending his legendary life.
We can know from the above that if we put aside Xu Shuzheng's unruly character, he is indeed very talented, so when he was coordinating the northwest, he once took back Outer Mongolia, which was completely a big deal at that time.
Although some people have done some work before this, we can't deny Xu Shuzheng's last move.
Xu Shuzheng's death is mainly because he is ruthless and has many enemies, so many people will put him to death. As for Xu Shuzheng's death in the hands of Feng Yuxiang, the main reason is that killing Lu Jianzhang and destroying Feng Yuxiang's big plan, so Feng Yuxiang can't bear it anymore and must kill Xu Shuzheng.
In the end, Xu Shuzheng fell into the hands of Feng Yuxiang, so he had no other choice but to die.
