First, disassemble the charger shell along the housing seam on the pin side, and fix the prongs through wire welding.

The PCBA module inside the charger is potted and filled to improve heat dissipation performance and weather resistance.

The back of the PCBA module is soldered with a primary main control chip, feedback optocoupler, SMD Y capacitor, corresponding synchronous step-down controller and step-down MOS tube.

Through the observation of the PCBA module, it is found that the Nothing CMF 65W gallium nitride charger adopts a QR flyback architecture with a fixed voltage output to power the step-down board. Through two independent synchronous step-down circuits, the fast charging output of two USB-C ports and USB-A ports is realized. The rectifier bridge is from Yangjie Electronics, model D8UB100, specification is 8A1000V.

The side of the PCBA module is welded with high-voltage filter capacitors, transformers and output filter capacitors.

The high-voltage filter capacitor is from Dongjia and is specified at 550V22 F.

There is also a 550 V10 F specification with a total filter capacitor capacity of 52 F.

The differential mode inductor is wound with an I-shaped core, and the jacket is insulated by a heat shrinkable tube.

The primary main control chip comes from Huayuan Zhixin, model HY1658L, which is an intelligent digital multi-mode flyback controller, the chip integrates high-voltage start, supports a variety of working modes, and can automatically switch between QR and CCM modes to balance switching loss and conduction loss. Built-in jitter improves EMI performance, and an adaptive gate driver balances switching losses and EMI to drive an output voltage clamp of 12V.

HY1658L has perfect protection functions, supporting output over-voltage protection, power supply over-voltage protection, transformer magnetic saturation protection, under-voltage over-voltage protection, overload protection, chip over-temperature protection and current sampling resistance open-circuit protection. The gallium nitride switch is from Runxin Micro, model RX90T150PS2A, which is a CACODE cascade structure of gallium nitride switch, the device withstand voltage is 900V, the conduction resistance is 150M, and the TO220 package is used. The RX90T150PS2A supports 20V gate voltage, which is compatible with traditional controllers, simplifying the drive circuit, and has sufficient headroom for gate withstand voltage to cope with adverse factors such as voltage overshoot during the switching process, avoiding potential damage and failure of the device.

The controller for the USB-C interface buck output is from Nanxin Technology, model SC8002, which is a synchronous buck controller that can be configured as dual output or single output. The SC8002 regulates the output voltage to a 5V or other voltage by setting a voltage divider resistor. High-accuracy output current limiting is also provided. When either of the two output channels reaches the set current limit, the SC8002 enters constant current (CC) mode. The total output power can be set by the resistor, which is convenient for constant power control.

The SC8002 can be set to the frequency and select either PWM or PFM operation. With the smallest BOM, the maximum functionality can be achieved for the user's different applications. The SC8002 also supports full-featured protection, including under-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, auto-restart, and over-temperature protection. SC8002 is mainly used in car chargers, multi-group interface adapters, hubs, industrial voltage conversion, etc.
