As a popular technology in recent years, 3D modeling is very interesting to many friends who love to play games and figures, and feel that it is difficult and complex to master. In fact, as long as you master the correct learning method, you can become proficient in a few months
As a working game modeler, I'm going to share with you today the next-generation modeling process and commonly used software.
1. Use 3DMAX Maya to start the mold and make low-mold production.
2. Use zbrush to engrave low-poly details, such as textures and damages, enrich the details, and turn them into high-poly.
The model carved by ZBrush has too many faces, which tests the performance of the computer and may not be smoothly imported into the game engine, so it is necessary to have a high-poly topology and low-poly, and use a low-poly with a small number of faces to show a high-poly with rich details.
3. Use topogun to change the high-mode topology to low-mode.
4. Use 3DMAX Maya to unfold the low-poly UV
In order to make the model more realistic and beautiful, the model is expanded into a 2D plane to facilitate subsequent mapping operations.
5. Baking normal.
A normal is a dashed line that is always perpendicular to a plane, and when it comes to representing the angle at which a ray hits a plane, it is usually represented by a ray and a change point discovery angle. This means that the normals of all points on a map can be recorded, and this information can be used to achieve a false bump effect in the later stage.
6. Stickers. In order to create a virtual game world, it is necessary to connect with the real reality, so the modeler needs to have the ability to observe the real world, and it is best to have a certain artistic aesthetic ability, and express the elements and details on the texture.
7. Import the engine for rendering.
High poly: 3DMAX, Maya, ZBrush
Medium mold: 3dmax, maya
Low poly: 3dmax, Maya, Topogun
Scene props can be modeled using 3DMAX, and characters can be modeled using Maya.
UV: Maya, Zbrush, Unfold3D, UVlayout
Topology: Maya, 3dmax, and Topogun
Topogun is a stand-alone retopology, and texture baking application.
Materials: Photoshop, Substance Painter
SP's brushes are so powerful that they can paint colors, masks, and even materials, so there's a lot of use right now.
Therefore, there are a lot of things to learn in 3D modeling, and you must find a professional institution to learn with you, only in this way can you enter the employment level faster.
There are many training institutions in China that are doing very well:
1. The Ninth Alliance.
Alliance 9 itself is a professional game production company, which has been trained and established for many years, and the students who come out of it have always been well received by the industry. Recommended 3D modeling training institutions (Ninth Alliance).
2. The age of Mars.
A well-established training institution has opened relevant courses for many industries, and the comprehensive employment rate of students is not bad.
