Martyr Tan Youhai was born on June 28, 1932, in Lianyuan County, Loudi City, Hunan Province (Anhua County before liberation), Lantian Town, Wenyi Road Neighborhood Committee, Niwan Li. Tan Youhai's father died of illness when he was born 3 months ago, his mother died of illness when he was 3 years old, and there were 6 brothers and sisters in the family, he was the youngest, raised by his brother Tan Youxiang, and had a deep relationship with his brother. When he was young, due to his poor family background and large number of people, he often did not eat three meals and lived a difficult life. At the age of fifteen or sixteen, he went out to earn a living in order to share the burden of the family for his brother, and joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in 1949 and was assigned to the 3rd Battalion and 9th Company of the 228th Regiment of the 76th Division of the 26th Army of the Third Field Army. Under the education and training of the Communist Party of China, he studied hard, practiced his skills, grew rapidly, and made meritorious contributions in the War of Liberation. During the revolution, martyr Tan Youhai sent home several letters, he wrote a letter to his family about his heroic fight in the battle, bravely killed the enemy, made meritorious achievements, and sent the meritorious service certificate and his ** back home in the hope of sharing it with his family, and the letter also repeatedly mentioned the feelings of the family and country for everyone. In 1950, when the Korean War broke out, Tan Youhai went to the front line with the army to resist US aggression and aid Korea to defend his family and defend the country, and after sending the last letter home in May 1950, he cut off contact with his family, and died heroically in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in December 1950 at the age of 18.
