At 10 o'clock in the morning of the 2nd, the kitchen of the fire squadron of Jinan West Railway Station was extremely busy, and 10 volunteers set off from their homes early in the morning to make dumplings and celebrate the New Year with the firefighters.
Mix the filling, mix the dough, roll the skin, ......A group of volunteers with an average age of more than 60 years old are busy with the work, and everyone has a clear division of labor, and after a while, everything is ready.
Taking advantage of the time when the firefighters were out on duty, the volunteers were busy, putting a full filling in the dumpling skin, and squeezing it with both hands, a dumpling was wrapped. In the kitchen, volunteers chatted about family life, asked about the work of the firefighters, and volunteers wanted to introduce single firefighters to their partners. In just over an hour, the volunteers made nearly 1,000 dumplings.
Firefighters are very hard, and they can't go home during the New Year's holidays, today is the New Year, and we came to make dumplings, just to let them eat the taste of home. Qilu volunteer Lu Guangkuo said.

While the "Mom and Dad" volunteers made dumplings, the young volunteers also gained a lot, visited the fire fighting vehicles, equipment and equipment on board under the leadership of the firefighters, and learned the use of fire extinguishers and other fire safety knowledge. At the same time, the young volunteers also tried on firefighting protective clothing and experienced the difficulty of firefighters participating in rescue work.

The firefighters introduced to the children that each vehicle has a different role, and in the rescue, it may be necessary for multiple vehicles to work together at the same time to ensure that the fire source is extinguished in time. 
Subsequently, the young volunteers also learned the use of fire extinguishers on the spot, and the firefighters taught them hand-in-hand, so that each child could master the use of fire extinguishers.
The firefighter uncle said that when using a fire extinguisher, you should stand upwind and aim at the root of the fire source to extinguish the fire, otherwise you will not be able to extinguish the fire. If I encounter a fire situation in the future, I will definitely follow this method. Volunteer Wang Xiaote said.
After the visit, the little volunteers took out the gifts they had prepared and wished the firefighters a happy holiday. Some prepared Spring Festival couplets; Some prepared fruits; Some made their own gifts.
