Accelerate the transformation of AI on the device side
As we all know, Qualcomm's second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, released as early as 2022, has been able to support the operation of generative AI models such as Stable Diffusion, Llama2, and Baichuan. Qualcomm's third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform and the new Snapdragon X Elite platform, released in October 2023, further upgrade this capability.
At MWC 2024,Qualcomm demonstrated for the first time the ability to run a large multimodal language model (LMM) with more than 7 billion parameters on both platforms on an Android phone and a Windows PC, respectively. The model library provides developers with more than 75 mainstream AI and generative AI models, such as Whisper, ControlNet, Stable Diffusion, and Baichuan-7B, which can be packaged in different execution environments, enabling superior device-side AI performance, reduced memory footprint, and improved energy efficiency in different forms of terminals. All models are optimized to take full advantage of the hardware acceleration capabilities of all cores within the Qualcomm AI Engine, resulting in 4x faster inference. The AI model library can automatically handle model conversion from the source framework to the mainstream execution environment, work directly with the Qualcomm AI engine Direct SDK, and apply hardware-aware optimization.
