Straight and horizontal rackets refer to the posture in which the racket is held in table tennis.

Table tennis is a sport with a broad mass base in China. Table tennis does not have high requirements for equipment venues. Fight two square tables, use a wooden board to saw a racket, a ping pong ball, and you can play against each other.

The straight and horizontal rackets of table tennis balls are a posture of holding a racket.

Shoot straight, holding the handle of the racket with your thumb and index finger and the middle and little fingers against the back of the racket.

We call this a straight-grip racket. A straight racket with a slightly shorter handle is used to hit the ball mainly with the front side of the racket. The front of the racket is covered with rubber, and the reverse side is usually a bare plate (no rubber). Straight-gripping racket play, popular in the fifties and sixties, the advantage is that the left push ball quickly changes the line, suitable for fast breaking. The disadvantage is that the backhand is not strong enough, and it is often necessary to hit the ball sideways with a forehand.

Hold the racket handle horizontally, and use your thumb and index finger to hold the front and back of the racket respectively. The handle of the racket is slightly longer. Glue is applied on both sides. The advantage of the horizontal shot is that the forehand and backhand can attack with force, and the speed is fast and powerful. In the 70s, European table tennis players usually used a cross-grip racket. The "curved ball" invented in Japan is more advantageous for holding the racket horizontally.

Modern table tennis has a more comprehensive hitting technique, whether it is offensive or defensive, there are more players who use horizontal grip rackets.

In particular, it is more advantageous to hold the racket horizontally in defense and the ball in the near table.

Table tennis master competition, if you can't win the racket in the first three boards and enter the stalemate stage, you will suffer a loss.
