On the occasion of the 126th birthday of Ferrari's founder, Enzo Ferrari (18 February 1898), Ferrari unveiled a new livery for its 499P car and announced that it would continue to compete in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar. 2024 marks Ferrari's return to the top class of the World Endurance Championship in its second season, with the opening race taking place in Qatar on 2 March, when AF Corse will once again compete for the title with the No. 50 and No. 51 cars.
The new livery of the Scuderia Ferrari 499P combines history and innovation, and looking back on the 2023 season, the Scuderia Ferrari team won the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Leman and finished second in the Constructors' Championship of the Year; The newly designed livery not only closely echoes last season's livery, but also cleverly incorporates innovative elements to present a strong futuristic feel.
Ferrari Red is also known around the world as a symbol of the Italian sporting spirit, and when combined with the Prancing Horse's iconic Giallo Modena yellow for the 2023 season, it brings out the sculptural beauty and dynamic lines of the 499p car.
The livery of the 2024 499p (pictured above) not only closely echoes last season's livery (pictured below), but also subtly incorporates innovative elements.
Historically, the 312 PB was the last prototype of Ferrari to compete in the top class of endurance racing, and the red and yellow livery is a tribute to the 312 PB. The Ferrari 499P is designed in the new season-specific Racing Red with the classic Giallo Modena Yellow in a deep red hue inspired by the Ferrari F1 Team's 2007 F2007 cars, while the new design gives the car a more striking glossy finish that significantly improves the car's visibility at night and in low-visibility conditions.
This year, the No. 50 and No. 51 499P cars, driven by six official Ferrari drivers, have a different livery design than last year. The new livery uses two staggered color blocks to subtly set off the car's body and cabin shape, and visually create a sense of rhythm like a cloud, while the subtle combination of the two colors also highlights the beauty of the lines and three-dimensional effect of the body's geometric elements.
These design details stand out when viewed from the side of the two Ferrari Hypercar cars: Giallo Modena yellow surrounds the entire cabin, emphasizing not only the aesthetics of the car's exterior, but also the symbolism it carries. In addition, the underside of the car, near the rear wheel arches, the upper part of the rear wing and the inside of the rear wing end panels, are embellished with newly designed tone-on-tone graphics and lines, fully demonstrating the design concept of dynamism and speed.
