Jingyun: "Rulai is good at protecting the Bodhisattvas, and is good at paying the Bodhisattvas." World-honored! A good man and a good woman, who develop the three bodhichittas, how can the clouds dwell and how can the clouds subdue their minds? The meaning of this ** is roughly as follows: Rulai takes good care of the minds of the Bodhisattvas, and instructs and teaches the Bodhisattvas to practice. World-honored ones, those good men and women who have made a vow to pursue supreme enlightenment, how can they protect their true hearts, how can they get rid of the interference of delusions and distractions in their hearts?
First of all, what does "Rulai" mean? Nyorai is a general term, and anyone who has attained the supreme enlightenment attainment can be called Nyorai. Rulai is one of the ten titles of Shakyamuni. Rulai refers to things as they are or as they are, the true reality that comes from and goes nowhere, that is, the true nature that each of us has. Nyorai can also be called: Truthfulness, Self-Nature, Bodhi, Truthfulness, Nature, Emptiness, Reality, and so on.
Let's take a look at what does "good protection" mean in **? "Caring for one's thoughts" refers to taking good care of one's own thoughts and thoughts. For example, if we meditate and meditate, if we can take care of our hearts and not think nonsense, this is good care. All cultivation methods are inseparable from the three words "good protection", and the focus of the whole article is "good protection". There are four thoughts in the practice method, namely, the mind, the mind, and the Dharma. The thoughts in the four thoughts are very important, and we should always remember this heart and be aware of our inner thoughts at all times, which is the "good protection of thoughts." Our thoughts, our minds are born and destroyed, they are unreliable, we are often a thought that flashes away immediately, if we chase this thought, and take this thought as a real mind, we are mistaken, because the thought is changing all the time, it is constantly born and dies.
So what is a thought? A breath in and out is called a thought. Shakyamuni believed that one thought of our people has 84,000 afflictions. Eighty-four thousand here does not refer to a specific number, but to an infinite number of them. Between these thoughts, our minds contain an infinite number of afflictions. If we can get rid of these troubles, we will almost attain enlightenment when we have no thoughts. We have to protect our thoughts in our behavior, and we have to take care of and take care of this idea anytime and anywhere, and some of us go around asking for the Fa, and we spend a lot of time and votes trying to find a Fa. Is there really a way out there? This is actually a big delusion! It's also an annoyance. The law is in **? In fact, the Fa is in the hearts of each of us, and it is the three words "good protection." "Caring for Kindness" is the beginning of all practice, and it is also an important practice method. The meaning of "giving good advice" is to teach and instruct well, so that the bodhisattvas can practice diligently. "Bodhisattva" refers to those who are able to realize their own enlightenment, that is, those who, after their own enlightenment and liberation, are able to teach enlightened and liberated beings to ignorant beings.
When the three bodhichitta are developed, how can the clouds dwell, and how can the clouds subdue their minds? "This is talking about the heart, the so-called hair refers to the motive, what kind of heart? Developing "Anuttara Samadhichitta and Three Bodhichitta". "Anuttara" is a Sanskrit word meaning supreme, supreme; "Three" means positive, and "contempt" means equality and equality; "Bodhi" means enlightenment; Together, it means that we have to develop a mind that is supremely enlightened. "Anuttara Sambodhichitta" encompasses the mind-to-earth method, the clear mind, and the realm of attaining enlightenment through worldly transcendence; This mind, in terms of behavior, is the bodhisattva mind of great compassion and compassion, and it wants to enter the world and reach out to all sentient beings; Theoretically, it is a great enlightenment, a mind that transcends metaphysical ontology. In other words, the "three bodhichittas" means that we practitioners set our minds to demand the supreme bodhi path and to reach all sentient beings. Therefore, we have to find our true nature, and this is called the development of the "three bodhichitta." The "dwelling" in "how should the clouds live" and the "should be like dwelling" in the later answer means to dwell, stop, and guard. What do you settle down? Settle down in the true heart, settle in the pure realm.
So what is the difficulty of our cultivation? It's the three words "good protection". If we want to be enlightened and awakened, to know our own life as it is, and to seek the supreme path, there is a great difficulty that our thoughts and thoughts cannot stop. Some of us sit up, either thinking of husbands, wives, parents, children, Zhang San and Li Si, or thinking of houses, cars, delicious food, and fun ......It's okay if we don't meditate, but as soon as we get up and sit down and close our eyes, our hearts will be full of distractions and delusions. This is why our troubles cannot be stopped, and this is the first problem that we encounter in our practice. "How should the clouds live?" is to ask how can we make the true heart settle in the pure realm? "How can the cloud subdue its heart", that is, how can we subdue this disturbing heart and delusional mind?
The next reply from Shakyamuni was: "A good man and a good woman, if you develop the three bodhichitta, you should dwell in this way and subdue your mind in this way." The meaning of this sentence is that those good men and women who wish to pursue supreme enlightenment should settle down their true hearts in this way, and they should subdue their delusions in this way. What Shakyamuni means is that when you are bent on seeking the Tao, that is, at the moment you ask a question, your true heart has been settled, and your delusion has already been subdued. Why? This is what Zen Buddhism says about the present moment as it is, and when it is thought of, there is no need to think of another way. In fact, it doesn't matter whether this mind surrenders or not, all the delusions of joy, anger, sorrow, sorrow and distress are originally empty and illusory, and there is no need to surrender again.
As the scriptures say, "Seeing that the five aggregates are empty", the delusional mind is formed by the combination of the causes and conditions of the five aggregates (seeing, receiving, thinking, acting, and knowing), so it is inherently empty and illusory. As the saying goes, "knowing illusion is separation, not making convenience, leaving illusion is perception, and there is no gradualization". Therefore, as long as we truthfully observe that delusion is illusory, delusion will naturally be subdued. If we forcibly suppress the so-called delusion, it will become more and more intense, even if you force it, it will resurgence after a while, and it will never be finished. And our true heart is inherently inhabited, pure and tranquil, and there is no need to settle down again.
It is actually very difficult for a person to reach the state of living at any time, we have a saying called "peace with the situation", and the meaning of peace and residence is actually the same, but we often can't do it with the situation, because our heart is never satisfied, and we always have to pursue things such as fame, fortune, power, and affection. Shakyamuni replied, "You should live as you are, and subdue your mind as you are," which means that at the time you asked, at that moment, the mind has already settled; How can I settle down? To live without dwelling is to live, that is, there is no object for you to live. In the words of Zen Buddhism, to live is to live, and not to live is to live. To live without dwelling is to dwell. Therefore, if we can reach this realm, it is the so-called Rulai, the heart is like a mirror, the heart is clean, there is no longer subjective prejudice, things should be answered, the past is not left, spotless.
