1. How long does it take for a passport to expire and be renewed?
It takes 15 days to process a regular passport and 5 working days for an expedited passport. The specific provisions are as follows: If a citizen applies for an ordinary passport or applies for a change, renewal or reissuance of an ordinary passport, the exit-entry administration of the public security organ shall issue it within 15 days from the date of receipt of the application materials. In the case of the circumstances provided for in Article 5 of these Measures, the exit-entry administration of the public security organ shall issue the application within 5 working days from the date of receipt of the application materials.
2. What materials are required for passport renewal after expiration?
The following documents are required for passport renewal after expiration:
1.A recent barehead** and a completed "Application Form for Chinese Citizens Going Abroad (Outside the Territory) for Private Purposes";
2.Resident ID card and household registration booklet and photocopy;
3.Citizens under the age of 16 shall be accompanied by their guardians and submit their guardians' opinions agreeing to leave the country, their guardians' resident ID cards or household registration booklets, passports and photocopies thereof;
