On January 5, Fangda Special Steel Ironmaking Plant blast furnace blast yard ultra-low emission closed renovation project was successfully completed and put into use, so far, the company's three blast furnace blast yard operating platforms have met the ultra-low emission environmental protection requirements.

It is understood that Fangda Special Steel has a total of three blast furnaces, each blast furnace south and north two taps are set up dust removal suction cover and tapyard platform cover, but due to production needs, mud, blowpipe and other materials need to be hoisted from the top of the platform cover, then the top of the blast furnace taphole platform cover will be in an open state, and by the long-term high temperature baking of molten iron at the taphole mouth, the gap between the movable steel plate and the swing door of the steel structure wall of the tapfield platform cover becomes larger, which affects the sealing effect and gives a certain impact on the smoke and dust capture of the iron mouth.

In order to effectively implement the "Opinions on Promoting the Implementation of Ultra-low Emissions in the Iron and Steel Industry" (Huanqi 2019 No. 35) jointly issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China and other five ministries and commissions, on "comprehensively strengthening the control of unorganized emissions in material storage, transportation and production processes, under the premise of ensuring production safety, take effective measures such as sealing and closure to effectively improve the exhaust gas collection rate, and there shall be no visible smoke and dust escaping from dust production points and workshops" Fangda Special Steel decided to implement environmental protection and ultra-low emission closure transformation for the three blast furnace casting yards.

During the renovation process, the company used the existing steel structure frames of the three blast furnace tapfield platform covers to effectively close the construction to improve the sealing effect and exhaust gas collection rate of the taphole platform covers. At the same time, the top plate of the tap yard platform cover is designed as a detachable hoisting structure, which can take into account the daily maintenance and hoisting of equipment such as mud cannon machine, open-end machine, and blowpipe while ensuring tightness.

At present, there is no obvious visible smoke and dust in the operation area of the company's three blast furnace casting yards, and the on-site environment and air quality have improved significantly. (Zhang Yuliang, Jackie Chan).
