More than 30 team members chose to stay in school during the winter vacation, and the working hours of more than 10 hours a day are all showing their love for this competition and their pursuit of self-transcendence. In the old hall of the National Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Carrier System, researcher Wu Shengchuan, the team leader, is following up and observing the full-scale rolling vibration test bench with young teacher Aoni and graduate students to further confirm the technical points of the development of the in-situ scaled wheel-rail rolling contact fatigue test system, which is also a key precision scientific instrument in the national key research and development plan that the team has just approved. Relying on large scientific facilities such as the China Spallation Neutron Source and the High Energy Synchrotron Radiation Light Source, this project develops a joint characterization technology of high spatiotemporal resolution diffraction and imaging, hoping to reveal the fatigue damage mechanism and damage tolerance of high-speed train wheels based on speed effect, and explore the establishment of a coupled energy field model of high-speed and heavy-duty wheel-rail system under speed effect. During the winter vacation, Wu Shengchuan's office was also open, and after discussing the in-situ rolling contact fatigue reduction test device with the team, he led the completion of the first draft of the invention patent. At the same time, Wu Shengchuan's team was also invited to participate in the "Are We able to describe rolling contact fatigue?" organized by Professor Stefano Beretta of Politecnico di Milano-Insights from Iderplane Project". Subsequently, he went to Xi'an, Beijing, Wuhan and other places to communicate with relevant teams on the fatigue resistance and damage tolerance design of additive manufacturing railway vehicle structures. This year is the 10th year that Wu Shengchuan has been deeply involved in additive manufacturing technology, and he has always maintained his academic sensitivity, just to promote the application of additive manufacturing components with excellent mechanical properties in China's next-generation high-speed trains.
