Squarp Instruments releases the sequencer module Hermod+ 110 Update, added ON Air mode.
French developer Squarp Instruments launches firmware Hermod+ 11 Update, added a new chromatic play mode (ON Air mode) to the CV Gate MIDI sequencer.
In the summer of 2023, Squarp Instruments released a brand new version of the popular HerMod Eurorack sequencer. Not only does this version offer more features, but thanks to the new screen, it's more convenient to use and gives you better visual feedback.
In this new mode, the 16 keyboard pane becomes a chromatic keyboard, allowing you to play and record notes. Scrolling the selected note causes the keyboard to transpose and set the note to the pad at the bottom left.
You can also use it in a mod track to play modulation values with 16 pavements. In addition to that, they have optimized and fixed various bugs.
In recent years, France has become one of the world's largest producers of synthesizer-related products. Many innovative companies have made their home here. In addition to Arturia and Expressive E, you can also find Squarp Instruments here, the company with its powerful flagship Hapax sequencer.
Prior to this, they also attracted attention with the launch of the ambidextrous Pyramid sequencer or Eurorack version of Hermod. Now, Squarp has revamped the latter from the ground up with Hermod+.

Hermod+ (26HP) is a brand new EuroRack sequencer with 8 CV Gate tracks and 8 dedicated MIDI tracks for additional external equipment. In addition, the 8 CV Gate tracks can also output MIDI, so there are basically 16 MIDI tracks.
The concept of modules remains the same in many ways. According to Squarp, the new Hermod+ is based on the established HerMod workflow and maintains the same form factor. However, its functionality has been greatly expanded and it is easier to use. This makes it possible to create a new, large-format OLED display with more detailed parameters and menus.
Hermod+ introduces a newly developed operating system.
The Hermod+ RTOS has been redesigned from the ground up just like its hardware, combining stability with an intuitive user interface to keep your ideas flowing.
CV Gate MIDI tracks.
Each track can hold up to 16 modes and the recording resolution is 96ppqn. Track lengths range from 1 16 notes to 16 bars. There's also a song mode chain option for up to 64 sequences. The maximum polyphony per scale is 24 voices.
Hermod+ is not a simple Eurorack sequencer, but a powerful device with a variety of extra features. These include polyphonic scale composition, with a revised piano roll editor that allows you to make polyphonic edits intuitively. With the built-in 16 pads, you can quickly edit or arrange chords, melodies, and rhythms.
It allows you to program and record auto-modulation for each track's CV and or MIDI signals. In addition, you can record MIDI aftertouches, pitch bends, and sustains in the sequencer.
CV MIDI effect.
One of the strengths of Squarp Instruments sequencers is the ability to use sophisticated, real-time CV MIDI effects on every track. These effects are also included in hermod+. Up to 8 effects can be used simultaneously per track, including ARP, CHANCE, Delay, Envelope, Filter, Euclid, LFO, Glide, To Note, HARMO, Ratchet, Random, Scale, and Swing.
Another new feature is the creation of builds. You can use the pattern generator to generate patterns on the fly in a controlled, random manner. I'm curious about its depth.

The Hermod+ has four CV inputs that can be used to synchronize with the input's analog clock, or for recording, editing, and cycling analog modulation or CV Gate. As a result, you can create complex modulations in other modules and capture them in Hermod+.
In addition, there is an advanced modulation matrix for connecting input CV or MIDI CC information with effect parameters, etc. Each modulation can be adjusted and offset. This is a very clever feature.
Projects can be quickly saved and recalled from the SD card. Squarp Instruments says that it is now possible to load projects synchronously without interrupting playing.
Connectivity. In addition, the second generation of Hermod has a large number of inputs and outputs. In addition to the 16 pad matrix, there are.
MIDI - TRS Type A + USB Host + USB Device.
4x CV input [-5V to +5V.]
8x CV output [-5V to +5V.]
8 threshold outputs [0V +5V.]
Dedicated clock port and reset port for transportation.
