Yanqiu Garden was built because of a song "Yanqiu Ci" that has been sung through the ages, with the purpose of commemorating the sages, paying tribute to the classics, and educating future generations. It is the original intention of Yanqiu Garden to implant the cultural spirit of "Yanqiu Ci" into the garden landscape, so that visitors can have a cultural experience that touches the soul.
Couplets and stone carvings have the wonderful use of refreshing and pointing in classical gardens. All the stone carvings and couplets in Yanqiu Garden are based on the meaning of Yuan Haowen's "Yanqiu Ci", and slowly unfold according to the garden landscape and the surrounding landscape scenes, realizing the integration of love, scenery, meaning and interest, and is the embellishment and sublimation of the theme of love. It can be said that if you are not familiar with "Yanqiu Ci", you can't understand Yanqiu Garden.

Haowen Building is the core building of Yanqiu Park. The couplet on the west stage on the first floor of the main building: "Writing about the reins of the dragon gate, the water resting in the secluded window, the rain and the harvesting, leaving no stone in the gold source, leaving a literature for a generation, the poetry is comparable to the east slope of the valley, the value of the sea and the cross-current, the sect is worthy of the style, and the style is typical." It was written by Xu Jishe (a native of Wutai County, Daizhou, Shanxi Province), who was a famous minister and scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, successively served as the governor of Guangxi and Fujian, the governor of Fujian and Zhejiang, the prime minister of Yamen, and the first minister in charge of Tongwenguan affairs. The couplet on the east door on the second floor: "The clouds gather and disperse the water for a long time, the sky is barren, life and death, love, the moon is waxing and waning, the mountains are immortal, the sea is dry, the stones are rotten, and the ancient and modern feelings are rotten." It is based on the poetry of Yuan Haowen, combined with the real scene of Haowen Building.

The plaque is the eye of the ancient building, which has the effect of the finishing touch. Good to ask the plaque on the stage on the first floor of the building "Generation Wenzong"; The east and west plaques on the second floor are "Ask through the ages" and "You should have words"; On the third floor, the east and west plaques read: "Northern Wenxiong" and "Love through the Ancient and Modern". The five plaques highlight the cultural and historical status of Yuan Haowen and strengthen the love tone of "Yanqiu Ci" through the ages.
The main building of Haowen Building and the north and south side halls of the east form a "product" shaped building structure. The south is paired with the palace couplet: "The father and the old fisherman know that there is a society, and the general peach and plum are self-contained." The horizontal plaque "Peach and Plum Chengqian" is selected from Yuan Haoqing's poems. The north side of the palace couplet: "Ask what the world is, and morality is the original." The horizontal plaque is "deep and meaningful". The upper link is the original sentence of "Yanqiu Ci", and the lower link is the thematic creation, which is extended from the loyalty of the wild goose to the loyalty of the world.
The exhibition hall of the history of the Jin and Yuan dynasties and the exhibition hall of the chronology of creation, facing the Fen River, are connected by the long corridor for the examination, and are distributed in the north and south of the Haowen Building, forming a pattern of wild geese spreading their wings. The couplets of the exhibition hall of the Jin Yuan Historical Narrative: "The swallow goes to the dream of the north and the south, and the green wave spring grass is ancient and modern." "Horizontal plaque" literary giant house". The couplet of the creation chronology exhibition hall: "Thousands of miles of wind and waves catch the sea, and the thousand-year-old heroes are magnificent hills." The horizontal plaque "through the ages". The two couplets are both from Yuan Haowen's poems.
The promenade is more than 150 meters, running from north to south, stretching and magnificent. The couplets are, "the forest is high and the wind is in a state, the moss is smooth and the water is silent", "the warm day is sunny and the day is light, the light cold protects the frost", "the smoke and light hide the scenery, the mountain bones are exposed in the autumn", "the willow is not old with the spring, and the pine only knows the cold of the year". All of them are selected from the original sentences of Yuan Haowen's poems, describing the scenery of the four seasons and the sentimentality of time. The horizontal plaques are respectively "grand view" and "cold and summer".
Located in the southwest of Haowen Building, close to the Fen River, it is the best location to watch wild geese. Couplet: "The sand and water have been left by geese, and the Qiankun is troubled and weeps autumn insects." "Shuangfei Pavilion is located in the northwest of Haowen Building, which is a conjoined building with two pavilions intertwined. Couplet: "A startled evening flute, count into the autumn clouds." "The Wild Song Pavilion, the Thousand Mountains Pavilion, and the Xiangxu Pavilion are waterfront pavilions, and the Fenshui flows under the eyes. Crazy Song Pavilion couplet: "Forget to talk about the autumn water, and the proud mountains are not endless." "Thousand Mountains Pavilion couplet:" The mountains are far away and the clouds are settled, and the water grows and geese leave their voices. "Xiang Xu Pavilion couplet:" Where is the bosom friend set, the good couple meets Tiancheng. "Only the shadow pavilion, the double flying pavilion, the crazy song pavilion couplets are selected from the original sentences of the Yuan Haowen poems, the Qianshan Pavilion and the Xiangxu Pavilion couplets are all based on the real scene.

Stone carving is the promotion of classical garden cultural values, and has the interest of "turning stones into gold". The large-scale stone carving in the center of the park is "Yanqiu Ci", which is arranged vertically and stretches naturally. According to the garden pattern and the rock-piling scenery, it is engraved with "great love without self", "never abandoned", "heart in the sky", "watching the mountains and listening to the water", "asking the heart", "looking at the geese" and "loyalty", and the logo stone is engraved with "wind and rain bridge", "Yingyan stone", "love pool", "wild goose hill" and "double flying pavilion". There are also carved 36 sentences of love idiom stone pillars, hanging chains into a scene, for visitors to feel.
Love is the appearance, righteousness is the core, the beauty of Yanqiu Garden is in the pavilions, the beauty is in the landscape and nature, but the real soul is the heavy culture and the spiritual connotation of loyalty and righteousness.
