In 1962, 18-year-old Deng Pufang was admitted to the Department of Technical Physics of Peking University with excellent results, majoring in nuclear physics. He originally had a bright future, but in his senior year, that is, in 1966, he ushered in the darkest moment of his life.
Soon after the special period began, his father was wrongly criticized and struggled, and was removed from all positions.
Under these circumstances, Deng Pufang, his sister Deng Lin, and his sister Deng Nan were wrongly criticized and controlled in their respective schools, and some even tried to extract their father's "incriminating evidence" from them.
As the eldest son of Deng Gong, Deng Pufang became the focus of those people's breakthroughs, and subjected him to more cruel **, not only forced to wear the hat of "counter-revolutionary", but also canceled his qualification as a probationary party member.
In August 1968, Deng Pufang, who could not bear the humiliation, decided to die.
So, without hesitation, he jumped down from the third floor, but was stopped by a wire in his waist, resulting in the fracture of the first lumbar vertebra and the twelfth thoracic vertebra of the spine, and his lower limbs were suddenly unconscious, and he fainted on the spot.
However, because of his father, the hospital didn't dare to give him ** at first, so the ambulance drove away after pulling him to the gate of Peking University Hospital, and Deng Pufang lay there all night, no one paid attention.
It wasn't until a worker named 'Wang Fengwu' from the Beijing Foreign Languages Printing Factory appeared that Deng Pufang got a better **.
In September 1968, the "ideological propaganda team" was stationed at Peking University, and Wang Fengwu was sent to Deng Pufang's class in the Department of Nuclear Physics as the class leader.
During this period, one of Deng Pufang's classmates found him and said that he had borrowed 20 yuan from Deng Pufang and wanted Wang Fengwu to help him return it to Deng Pufang.
After Wang Fengwu heard this, he immediately agreed. After many inquiries, he learned about Deng Pufang's whereabouts.
At that time, Deng Pufang was lying in the corner of an empty ward, with a high fever, and there was nothing to eat or medicine around him, which made Wang Fengwu very sad.
After a brief conversation with Deng Pufang, Wang Fengwu turned around and went out to find a doctor, asking them to see Deng Pufang as soon as possible.
With the help of Wang Fengwu, Deng Pufang's condition was temporarily controlled, but the situation was still not optimistic.
After that, the school hospital found Wang Fengwu and insisted that Deng Pufang be discharged, and within a few days, the propaganda team announced that Wang Fengwu's qualification as a "propaganda team member" was revoked, and he quickly left Peking University and returned to the factory.
Wang Fengwu doesn't have much nostalgia for this qualification, the only thing that makes him feel at ease is Deng Pufang, in his eyes, Deng Pufang is a good boy, a person with skills and useful to the country. So he made up his mind to cure him no matter what.
After that, he found a flatbed truck from the factory and desperately dragged Deng Pufang all over Beijing to seek medical treatment.
However, they have visited many hospitals, but they still have not gained much.
After being rejected many times, Wang Fengwu could only find another way, he simply wrote a "statement" to Deng Pufang, reflected his situation to the superior leaders, and finally reflected it all the way to ***. ** After learning of the incident, he immediately instructed the then Minister of Public Security, Xie Fuzhi, to ask him to inquire into the matter.
Under the care of his superiors, Deng Pufang was allowed to be admitted to Jishuitan Hospital for medical treatment, and was transferred to 301 Hospital soon after.
With Wang Fengwu's unremitting efforts, Deng Pufang finally got a good **, although he still failed to stand up in the end, at least he saved his life, and at the same time gave him hope and confidence to continue to live.
Later, through unremitting efforts, Deng Pufang also achieved high achievements, not only served as the chairman of the presidium and secretary of the party group of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, but also was elected as an alternate member and a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for two consecutive terms. And his "benefactor" Wang Fengwu has been living an ordinary life.
