Xinmin Society is a progressive group founded by a group of enthusiastic Chinese youths more than 100 years ago. On April 14, 1918, the inaugural meeting of the organization was held at the home of Cai Hesen in Yuelu Mountain, Changsha.
3. He Shuheng and others participated. The constitution adopted by the congress stipulates that the purpose of the society is to "reform academics, improve morals, and improve people's hearts and customs." The society has put forward higher requirements for the moral character and behavior style of its members, which is reflected in "no hypocrisy, no laziness, no waste, no gambling, and no prostitution."
Beginning in the second half of 1920, many members of the Xinmin Society joined the early organizations of our Party.
From January 1st to 3rd, 1921, the New Year's meeting of the Changsha members of the Xinmin Society was held, and the instructors made wonderful speeches. The meeting mainly discussed three questions: What should be the common purpose of the Xinmin Society? What are the methods used to achieve this goal? How do you get started?
He said:"The China problem is originally a world problem, but if we do not focus on the transformation of China and the transformation of the world, the transformation will be in a narrow sense and will hinder the world. ”This sentence reflects the extraordinary insight of the faculty. He saw the close connection between China and the world, and was able to take the pulse of China with a grand global vision.
The problems of modern China cannot be confined to China, which is actually a colonial and semi-colonial problem under the capitalist world system. Under this unfair system, backward countries have become the best place for raw materials, land, labor, commodity export markets and capital placement. The imperialist countries do not want more countries to establish independent industrial systems. Imperialism colluded with the landlords and compradors of the country to form a reactionary camp and jointly oppressed the broad masses of the people.
He divided the ideas of solving social problems in the world at that time into five types, one of which was Leninism. He prophesied:"The radical method of communism, the so-called labor-peasantism, uses the method of class **, which can be expected to have an effect, so it is best to adopt it. ”
He believed that the path of socialist revolution, symbolized by the October Revolution, contained more possibilities for success and was the method that should be adopted.
At that time, the Chinese were eager to find a way to save their lives and survive, and introduced many Western ideas and theories with the intention of putting them into practice. However, many problems have arisen in Western society itself, especially the outbreak of World War I, which has made some Chinese suspicious of Western systems and ideas. At this time, the October Revolution led by Lenin moved socialism from theory to practice, showing a new road and a new model for the world and for China.
The instructors believe that the ** path is worth practicing. Practice has shown that this revolutionary road has indeed been taken through, and socialism has not failed China.
Most of the speeches made by the faculty members at this New Year's meeting were included in the first article of the first volume of the ** Anthology, entitled:"Speech at the Changsha General Meeting of Xinmin Society".
Don't look at the small volume of this opening work, its significance is very significant. It is a sign that teachers have chosen the Marxist-Leninist road in an environment where various trends of thought are surging, and it is a great change in the thinking of teachers. It's a two-way journey of great ideas and great people. Since accepting Marxism, the teachers have not wavered in their beliefs.
