While China was exploring oil fields at Wanan Bank, Vietnamese ships approachedHow did the confrontation end?

Located at the westernmost tip of the Spratly Islands, Wan'an Bank is shaped like a crescent moon and is an indispensable part of our national territory. However, the island has caused many controversies and conflicts due to its abundant resource reserves.

Tracing the origin of the Sino-Vietnamese Wan'an Beach friction, it can be traced back to 1905. At that time, Japan had seized China's Taiwan Island, and it was still harboring greedy ambitions in an attempt to invade and occupy China's Nanhai Zhudao.

In 1905, Japan stole China's Dongsha Islands, to which the Qing ** immediately expressed strong opposition, and sent Li Huai, the commander of the Guangdong Navy, to lead the soldiers to Dongsha.

Under the watchful eyes of the Western powers, Admiral Oshimizu sent a fleet to inspect the Xisha Islands in 1909, which was the beginning of China's formal management of Nanhai Zhudao.

With the advent of the Industrial Revolution, Western powers such as Britain, France, the United States, Italy and other countries began to eyed China. With the continuous fall of southwest China, the sovereignty of Nanhai Zhudao has also been seriously threatened.

Despite this, the Qing Dynasty still worked hard to protect the sovereignty of Nanhai Zhudao in the last days. However, after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, France began to colonize Vietnam, and due to its geographical proximity, France began to covet China's Nansha Islands.

In order to solve this problem, in 1935, the Map Group was sent to publish the "Map of the Islands in the South China Sea", which clearly pointed out that the Nansha Islands are an inalienable part of China's territory.

After the outbreak of World War II, France was defeated, and Japan occupied all of Vietnam and made territorial claims to China's Spratly Islands. In 1946, Colonel Lin Zun led a fleet to Xisha Nansha Island to receive it, reaffirming China's sovereignty over Xisha Island.

In December 1947, the "11-dash line" was formally established and 170 islands in the South China Sea were named, a change that was not controversial among the newly independent countries near the South China Sea.

However, the days of peace did not last long. By the seventies, the United States was struggling with the Vietnam War, which consumed a lot of American personnel and financial resources and plunged the United States into a deep quagmire.

In addition, during the war in the Middle East, the oil exporting countries reached a united alliance to impose an embargo on oil, which caused the United States, which was mired in war, to suffer a serious economic crisis.

An economic crisis triggered by the "oil crisis" has caused countries around the world to pay attention to the issue of oil reserves. In the South China Sea, a hidden oil resource has been discovered, which has led to the coveting of the sea by neighboring countries such as Vietnam.

The People's Republic of China fought a naval battle in the Paracel Islands and successfully brought the entire Paracel Islands under its control. Therefore, Vietnam has set its sights on the Spratly Islands, which are the farthest from Chinese mainland, especially Wan'an Bank, which has strategic advantages and economic value.

Wan'an Bank: The gateway of the South China Sea, the route must pass, the geographical advantage is obvious, it is the closest place to the Strait of Malacca in Singapore and the coastline of Malaysia. It is also known as the "second Persian Gulf", with abundant oil reserves and abundant resources.

Vietnam's greed for Vanguard Beach has grown day by day, even resorting to external forces to achieve its goals. In 2019, while Vietnam cooperated with Rosneft, it also tried to co-opt American and Japanese oil companies to reap the benefits.

In response to Vietnam, China has stepped up patrols in the South China Sea. In July of the same year, Vietnam violated the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea by conducting drilling on its own without China's authorization or consent, and instructed Rosneft to set up a new drilling rig in Wanan Bank.

In the face of Vietnam's unilateral and forcible intrusion into Wan'an Bank in the South China Sea, China took swift action to issue a warning to Vietnam, and demanded that countries and teams without China's authorization immediately stop operations and evacuate the scene.

When warnings failed, China sent armed police vessels to forcibly evict them. However, Vietnam has not stopped its arrogant behavior and continues to illegally send ships to obstruct China's normal operations and coastal defense patrols.

In this regard, China resolutely safeguarded its rights and interests in territorial waters, and deployed the "Haiyang Dizhi No. 8" exploration vessel, which entered Wan'an Bank to conduct oil exploration operations under the escort of several coast guard ships.

China has dispatched a powerful navy and coast guard to protect the normal operation of the Haiyang Geology No. 8 oil exploration vessel. Among them, the Haijing 3711 ship has become the big ** of Marine Geology No. 8, and the Haijing 3901 ship is a powerful ocean-going comprehensive patrol ship, and its strength should not be underestimated.

Although Vietnam continues to harass our operations in Vanguard Bank under pressure from the failure of the Coast Guard ship harassment plan, our navy and coast guard forces are fully prepared to protect our maritime rights and interests.

In order to prevent China's oil exploration in the Vanguard Bank, Vietnam has dispatched more than 50 armed fishing boats to patrol the waters of the South China Sea, and have continuously attacked China's coast guard formation. However, at the beginning of August, China's Haiyang Geology No. 8 exploration ship successfully returned to the Wanan Tan basin under the escort of the guard fleet, and all the Vietnamese ships left when they saw this.

Their wishful thinking failed, because the supplies of our front did not need to reach Canton as they imagined.

Vietnam followed suit and sent armed ships to keep on guard, but these ships were still small-tonnage ships, which in turn revealed Vietnam's frustration.

Under the protection of our coast guard fleet, the Haiyang Dizhi 8 exploration vessel is still operating in an orderly manner, while Vietnam's armed fishing boats can only watch from afar from the sea.

Therefore, there was no substantive conflict between China and Vietnam. In September, the Haiyang Geology No. 8 exploration ship left Wan'an Beach again, and after four days of rest and replenishment at the Fiery Cross Island base, it returned to Wan'an Beach for operations.

This time, the exploration scope of the Haiyang Diology No. 8 exploration ship is not only limited to the Wan'an Bank Basin, but also includes a wider sea area.

The self-confidence of China's Haiyang Geology No. 8 exploration ship and the strong strength of the military and police fleet have terrified Vietnam, and it will never dare to act rashly again. Strength self-confidence is the key to building national self-confidence and cultural self-confidence, our country has come out of the humiliating history of being carved up and occupied by Western powers, and now China is no longer the same, strong strength is China's greatest confidence.
