Cummins Accelera s first localized PEM hydrogen production plant rolled off the production line

On January 29, 2024, Cummins Accelera's world's first localized HYLYZER-1000 product for the Chinese market officially rolled off the production line, achieving a significant reduction in the manufacturing cost of green hydrogen equipment and meeting the needs of local users for customized green hydrogen energy solutions with a shorter delivery cycle.

This model is based on the globally proven modular water electrolysis system, and the introduction of product localization will start in the second half of 2021. At the end of April 2023, the product was officially put into production at the Cummins Enze green hydrogen equipment manufacturing base in Foshan, Guangdong, and was assembled in September of the same year and entered the commissioning and R&D verification stage of the test room.

The product is a single 5MW modular product, with a hydrogen production capacity of 1000 standard cubic hours, and the product has completed laboratory tests, which can achieve 5% ultra-low load operation capacity, and the purity of direct output hydrogen can achieve 9999% (no hydrogen purification, no water state). This design is ideal for convenient on-site indoor installations, and can be increased by simple interconnection. Its reliability, low maintenance costs and excellent safety performance make it ideal for wind-solar coupling for the production of green hydrogen.

This series of products has been widely used around the world, and its excellent hydrogen production performance has been verified, and a number of sets of water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment have been successfully deployed in China, including Sinopec Zhong**tian Renewable Power Water Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project, and China Three Gorges Corporation's "Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration" Project. Among them, Sinopec Zhong**tian project has been in operation for 13 months, with an annual production capacity of nearly 400 tons and a green hydrogen purity of 99999% of the hydrogen produced per day can be used by 106 buses throughout the day, with a target annual reduction of 2,200 tons of CO2.

Cummins Enze PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment production base is currently the first batch of gigawatt-level PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment factories put into use in China, and is also an international advanced green hydrogen equipment technology research and development and manufacturing base. The factory adopts a lean and flexible production model, which can complete welding, degreasing, assembly, testing and other processes, with a production capacity of up to 500 MW in the first phase and 1 GW in the second phase.

With the successful launch of the first localized product of Hylyzer, Cummins Enze will continue to optimize and iterate product design based on products, serve the diversified needs of market segments with continuous product performance improvement and application expansion, and work with upstream and downstream industries to jointly promote the large-scale production of green hydrogen manufacturing equipment and the wider application of green hydrogen energy.
