On January 31, Fudan University established four new engineering innovation colleges, namely integrated circuits and micro-nano electronics, computing and intelligence, biomedical engineering and technology, and intelligent robotics and advanced technology, to start undergraduate enrollment for this year's college entrance examination candidates.
The school simultaneously launched the "Shannon Plan" and relied on Xianghui School to create a pilot area for top-notch innovative talents in the field of future intelligence. In 2024, it is planned to recruit the first batch of undergraduates, and after entering the university, students will be given first-class academic training and innovation and entrepreneurship training in the "2+X" talent training system of Fudan University. The school will continue to provide high-quality resources, implement a one-person-one-policy training program, integrate with the international core curriculum, gather top faculty, and cultivate world-leading high-end talents in the field of artificial intelligence.
According to reports, the four major innovation colleges are oriented to students who take the college entrance examination in various provinces and cities across the country and meet the requirements, with the characteristics of "integration of industry and education, integration of science and education, and integration of education", based on the "2+X" talent training system of Fudan University, through the "integrated" talent training to create "stem cell" top-notch innovative talents, with "the combination of general education and professional training" as the "two wings", through the "X" diversified development path, and strive to create "high-tech, cutting-edge new" new engineering top-notch innovative talents.
In terms of training mode, the four innovative schools implement the "undergraduate tutor system" throughout the whole process to improve students' core competencies such as scientific and technological writing, promote the long-term study system, actively explore the "undergraduate, master's and doctoral" training mechanism, and deepen cooperation with top international universities and research institutions. Based on the training program of "General Education (General Education Core, General Education Special Education) + Professional Training (Major Category Foundation, Major Core) + Diversified Development (Professional Advancement, Honors Program, etc.)", students of the School of Innovation will be exempted from credits after meeting certain requirements after entering the school for one year of study in major basic courses. According to the actual situation of each innovation college, engineering practice courses will be added, and the core courses of the major majors will highlight the characteristics of each innovation college, and will be composed of new courses and existing courses. The professional advanced curriculum reflects the characteristics of interdisciplinary development and the integration of industry, education and research, strengthens the cultivation of students' ability to comprehensively innovate and solve practical problems, and sets up a bridging course for this research.
In the future, the four innovation schools will further help Fudan University cultivate top-notch innovative talents, organically combine with the existing undergraduate talent training, and jointly build the "first Fudan".
