Manchester United's recent games have been really distressing and upsetting. As a fan, it's hard to see the love team lose at home to Fulham. Commentators Merson and Sherwood were unrelenting and pointed out United's problems. I sat in front of the TV and listened to their comments, and I didn't feel good.
First of all, the performance of Manchester United was really disappointing. The first half was completely controlled by Fulham, and the second half did not improve, and the players seemed to have lost their souls. As we all know, football is a team battle of 11 people, but Manchester United felt like 11 people playing on their own. Even Marcus Rashford and Bruno Bruno, who usually perform well, were overshadowed, and the whole team seemed to have lost their direction.
Merson mentioned that United's victories have only covered up the problem, and yes, I could not agree more. The previous five consecutive victories gave our fans a glimmer of hope, but this defeat to Fulham was like a basin of cold water poured down, which made people completely sober. The current Manchester United is not a little bit away from Manchester City, as Merson said, the current Manchester United seems to have returned to the England team ten years ago.
Sherwood's comments were also poignant, saying that many of these players were bought by the manager, but now it seems that they are not working as they should. Indeed, as fans, we expect consistent performances, games where we can see the team improve every week, not the ups and downs, heart-wrenching performances.
I sympathize with the 19-year-old Fauson, it should be his dream to start but a game like this could be a nightmare for him. What he needs is support from his team-mates and the right passing, not taking responsibility for the defeat alone. In this game, not only Fawson, but the whole of Manchester United should reflect on it.
As a fan, I hope that United will find the problem as soon as possible and start rebuilding. Whether it's bringing in new players or adjusting tactics, you should act as soon as possible. We don't expect to win the league title anytime soon, but at the very least, we want to see the team improve in every game, not as we are now, without hope.
All in all, this game gave me so much emotion. Hopefully the future for Manchester United will be better than it is now, and as a loyal fan, I will continue to support them, win or lose.
