Yesterday, the reporter learned that in Mayang Village, Zhongao Town, Dazu District, Yingke Fruit Professional Cooperative applied enzymes to the whole process of citrus planting, replacing the use of fertilizers and pesticides, which not only reduced costs, but also harvested zero pesticide residue certification from authoritative institutions.

The cooperative grows a total of 200 acres of citrus, including Ehime, Harumi and Wokan. "With no chemical fertilizers or pesticides at all, the citrus in our orchards needs a long growth cycle, and varieties such as Ehime and Harumi are just coming on the market and can be harvested until the end of April. He Daohua, head of Yingke Fruit Professional Cooperative, said.

He Daohua told reporters that the long-term application of chemical fertilizers can easily lead to soil acidification and compaction, resulting in a decline in crop yield and quality. Three years ago, with the help of agricultural experts, the cooperative began to apply enzymes to the whole process of citrus cultivation, replacing the use of fertilizers and pesticides. "Enzymes are mainly used in insecticidal and fertiliser, insecticidal enzymes are made from Chinese herbs such as chili peppers, arborvitae leaves, wormwood, etc., and fertilization is made from expired milk, animal offal, secondary and bad fruits. He Daohua said that last year, the orchard received zero pesticide residue certification from an authoritative organization.

It is understood that citrus cultivated with enzymes not only has low pesticide residues and better quality, but also has a relatively low production cost of enzymes. He Daohua calculated the account for the reporter, and the first water-soluble fertilizer on the market is generally four or five thousand yuan per ton, while the enzyme liquid fertilizer made of chili, ginger, mugwort leaves, etc. as raw materials costs two or three thousand yuan per ton, which further saves costs and increases efficiency.
