On February 26, Chinese electronics giant OPPO unveiled the OPPO Air Glass 3, a prototype of AR glasses with integrated voice assistant, at MWC 2024.
The weight of these glasses is only about 50g, and the resin wafer diffractive light waveguide lens independently developed by OPPO is used, with a refractive index of up to 170, the display brightness uniformity is greater than 50%, and the peak brightness of the eye is more than 1000 nits, so that the compact body close to the weight of ordinary glasses can also have the best full-color display effect on plastic lenses.
It is worth mentioning that the voice assistant feature introduced in the OPPO Air Glass 3 is powered by OPPO's own large language model AndesGPT. Through the OPPO Air Glass 3's exclusive app on the mobile phone, the AI model AndesGPT is mobilized, and users can experience the voice assistant function by simply touching the temples to achieve rich intelligent interaction. Currently, the voice assistant feature is only available in the Chinese market.
AI technology has always been one of OPPO's core technology tracks, and it is also the direction of future focus. On February 20, OPPO officially established an AI center to integrate and strengthen related R&D resources.
At present, multimodal AI technology can understand text, audio and other diverse data, process more complex scenes around the clock, and open innovative interaction modes such as vision and voice. This also means that XR devices need to be more functional and convenient. With the rapid development and widespread application of artificial intelligence technology, major electronics manufacturers have explored new ways to integrate AI technology into their products. Smartphone manufacturers across the globe are also actively looking to differentiate the experience of their devices through AI models.
OPPO also announced the establishment of an AI center on the eve of MWC 2024 and released "AI Mobile Phone*** Officially Opening the Era of "AI Mobile Phone", and continues to explore AI technology and user experience innovation.
OPPO has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies and startup RESS to bring a new fusion visual sensing technology (HVS) solution equipped with AI motion algorithms. Users can use ordinary smartphones to shoot clear and delicate high-speed sports scenes, and enjoy the intelligence and convenience of AI. At MWC, OPPO also joined hands with global partners such as Google, Qualcomm Technologies, and MediaTek to showcase a series of products, and announced that OPPO mobile phone users will be able to connect their phones to Microsoft Copilot.
