The types of corundum bricks mainly include white corundum bricks, chrome corundum bricks, zirconia corundum bricks, brown corundum bricks, zirconia bricks, etc., it is a high-quality refractory material.
1. Composition
The main component of white corundum brick is alumina, with a content of more than 90%, and it is a refractory product with corundum as the main crystalline phase; In addition to alumina as raw material, chromium corundum bricks are also made of Cr2O3 raw materials, which are then formed by high pressure molding and high temperature sintering.
Second, the degree of refractoriness
The refractory degree of white corundum bricks can reach about 1600, while the refractory degree of chrome corundum bricks can reach 1790, and the refractory of chrome corundum bricks is better than that of white corundum bricks;
3. Compressive strength
The compressive strength of white corundum bricks is generally between 70-100MPa, while the compressive strength of chrome corundum bricks can reach about 120MPa, which can be seen that the compressive strength of the latter is better than the former;
Fourth, the ability to resist slag erosion
The apparent porosity of white corundum bricks is generally about 20%, while the apparent porosity of chrome corundum bricks is generally about 15%, so it can be seen that in a high temperature environment, white corundum bricks are more likely to be eroded by slag, and in actual use, the chemical corrosion and permeability of chromium corundum refractory bricks against gasification slag are better than those of white corundum refractory bricks;
5. Thermal shock resistance
In the experimental process, with the increase of Cr2O3 content in chrome corundum bricks, the thermal shock stability decreased, and the thermal shock resistance of chrome corundum bricks with Cr2O3 content between 12% and 20% was better than that of white corundum bricks, and the thermal shock stability of white corundum bricks was better in other cases.
6. Uses
Chrome corundum bricks are used in glass kiln lining, molten iron pretreatment device, garbage incinerator, gasifier lining, etc. White corundum bricks are used in various high-temperature kiln linings, such as cracking and reforming furnaces in the petrochemical and fertilizer industries, steelmaking furnaces and blast furnaces in the metallurgical industry. Both products have their advantages, but chrome corundum bricks have stronger high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance than corundum refractory bricks.
The difference between white corundum bricks and chrome corundum bricks makes them play different roles in different environments and process requirements, and we must choose according to the actual use needs in the actual use process, so as to improve the overall service life of the kiln and the stability in the use process.
